Had an interesting night out with Jayant and his brother. We started on the 6 as he wanted to see Gus as they know each other from Angeles. While there, he fell in lust with one of the mamasans from across the street. He ignored all my young girls in nurse and maid outfits for the 40ish mature lady in jeans and t-shirt. A few hours later, a half dozen lady drinks for the mamasan and rounds for the girls keeping Mekhti company we finally hit a songtaew for Walking Street. We'll Jayant wanted live music so into Stonehouse for Thai bands doing rock covers. A couple drinks and he decides the mamasan is the love of his night, so I call Paul to ask her if she'd like to be barfined. She shows up, they stay a bit longer and disappear for the night.

That freed up Mekhti to hit the GoGos. I took him to the wild ones that put on shows that make the jaded blush. He enjoyed himself in those, and then we hit the posh places. Generally for those I toss the door a 200 baht tip for premium seating, don't want to be directed to the chattel seating. The posh of the posh, only because the lineup is far and away the best is owned by an associate named Martin. It's not my favorite as its cramped so kind of claustrophobic when packed. It's very popular with the Asians so unfortunately that means lots of smokers, but the lineup. We'll the door didn't want to let Mekhti enter, wouldn't even take 500 baht palm money so had to pull strings and get Martin. We got in, he made waves by calling over a half dozen girls. They'd go back to dance and would be replaced be the next squad, and then vice versa. He didn't want to bar fine as he was in a party mood still at 2am so we told the girls Republic vip.

Door didn't want to let him in, so he pulled out a wad of baht and said vip table. So he directed us to the booth, the waitresses brought over a couple bottles all sparklers up which of course garners lots of attention. Soon we're the center of attention, table is full of bottles, mixers, finger foods while the Thai girls are trying to get our attention. You do the point and shoot with the vip bouncer who will get the girl you want. About an hour later some of the Pin-Up dancers start showing so they get invited in. It was a good time, filled my Line quota with new contacts. Well I wander out a bit past 0430 with some company but not before clearing the bill, $400 for the table, 3 bottles, loads of mixers and food plus memories. Mekhti was looking happy surrounded by a bunch of girls, I did make sure to tip the bouncer to make sure he was put in a cab at closing. Now I just have to hope he wakes with both kidneys

Met Jay and Mekhti for dinner, they had argued over steak or Indian and steak won. While eating, Jay puts on a super heavy Indian accent to take the piss out of his brother for waking with clothes and knickers strewn across his Hilton suite and girls in the bed, on the couch and one passed out in the empty jacuzzi. Jay said he had to help him sort the tab for the girls. So it seemed that after feeling slighted that I paid the bill, the bouncer trundled Mekhti and 7 girls into a van to go home, but the good news is he awoke with both kidneys intact though his skull felt like it was smashed in pieces.

During dinner they decided that an easier night was in order so live music, a tamer GoGo scene and posher night club to finish. Hearing that I contacted Wayne at Insomnia to reserve my birthday VIP booths, expensive but I aim to please. Jay wants Gus to show up, so called him and asked him to sort out 10 or so girls for midnight bar fines to party vi's lottery. Just no dresses for them.

Plans made, we agree to meet in LK Metro at Billabong so Jay can have his live music. We meet up, listen to music, fend off out of prime freelancers and people watch. Eventually we head to Queens club which is infamous for their enhanced lineup. A few drinks, some ogling while Mekhti enjoys stereo company. Afterwards we head to my friend's GoGo with the lowering stage, well I take them straight upstairs to the land of debauchery. Mekhti pretty much dives right in, Jay is quite a bit more reserved and spends his time trying to take in all the sights.

We finish at almost midnight so catch a Bolt taxi to WS to head to Insomnia. Get it, get escorted to the booths. Mekhti insists on immediately paying, so who am I to argue. The VIP has a table fee which covers consumables ie bottles, mixers, food. So he pays the fee, tells the waitress to let him know if more money is needed and then he goes nuts and orders 4 bottles to start. Sparklers flying, serving trays following with mixers and a thousand eyes staring at the 3 guys in the double VIP. So girls start flirting from a distance, Mekhti is pointing and shooting with the bouncer to get girls. The house photographer is documenting the party, when about 1245 Gus and my girls show, so now it's 4 guys about 17 girls. Night progresses and the party increases. I do manage to get the Line from the girl of my fantasies, one of their cage dancers. Eventually around 5ish I tap, I make sure the bouncer is well tipped to get the boys safely in a cab. Funny thing, I was tipping our waitress and Mekhti got mad thinking I was trying to clear the bill so came over to take my money away. Had to give it to Gus to have him tip her later.

I'm sure everything turned out OK as Jay hardly drinks, Gus and another of my managers were there to make sure the Mumbai Mangler got home safe.

Shoulda got one game in
So the work on the big project fell through, as the person I was supposed to supervise and work with fired himself by being a no call and no show for the third time this summer. Because of that, I wasn’t able to leave a different project to go do that job. Which sucks for me as it was a pay raise for me to do that job. I still get my regular salary, but this would have been me getting double that.

One of the people that lives in the building next to me, who occasionally comes and hangs out outside, had her cat die today. She didn’t know what to do, as it came out of nowhere. The girl I’ve mentioned previously that I’m seeing voluntold me that I’ll help bury the cat once I got home from work today, which is just weird. At least ask me first, seeing we’re not actually together. So we buried the cat tonight, and the lady offered me money for my help. I refused it, because that’s just selfish.

And then for a final excitement, I broke my hand again at work a couple of days ago. But I’m just gonna deal with the pain, because I like having an income.

Happy Belated National Dog Day. Enjoy the time with the pup.

Thanks. We have one full time prior to bringing him aboard and another half time that basically travels with my kids when they shift households (split custody). This one though... the litany of things that we are dealing with is long. He's 15-20% underweight. He was dehydrated and has Stage 1 heartworm and also hookworms. Did I mention I don't have any info on any of his shots? To say I'm angered by the former owner's treatment of him is an understatement. We have him on a better diet to get his weight up slowly while keeping him relatively inactive. He's now got a valid rabies vaccination and his first of two treatments for the hookworm. The heartworm treatment... I have to contact the local humane society to see if there is an alternative to the cost my vet quoted (that was recommended by the vet, I used auto repair budget to get him in to see the vet... story for another day).

I respect you for doing the work necessary and doing your best to help the dog out. All you can do is help the dog as much as possible and give it an environment that is better than where they came from.

best wishes with the heartworm treatment. I know it's dangerous for the dog, and for the wallet. people suck. some people shouldn't be allowed to have rocks for pets, let alone something like a dog. I hope he comes along well for you.

Thanks. Anger is an interesting motivator. And I'm very, very angry.

Back from Aruba and a call with HR at a company I had two technical interviews with already. I think an offer might be incoming...worried it's going to be a bit low, however. Supposedly I'm in the final 3 at another company as well.

Nate and I have our first day of fall classes today. I hope having his first class at 10am allows him to get breakfast first.

His move in went relatively well. He wasn't sure where his TV remote was. But, if that's the worst thing that happened...

And he likes the quadmate that he didn't know. One of the two football players that he were going to be in his quad didn't come back to school it appears. So, they have a freshman auto tech major as the fourth with three sophomore auto tech majors.
