Was there not a time when Bruce Garrioch used to be on Tsn1200 pre game round table?Ya , Dean and Gord alternate being on pre game shows for years, what’s changed?
Steve Lloyd instead of Simpson on 1200 (listening now) might be the worst decision of all. Did Dorion make that move?
I don’t know if I can listen to this.
Sadly, this is exactly what appears to be occurring. It's clearly running on a skeleton crew until they're contractually allowed to shut the station down. Plus by cheaping out on on-air talent and running out of town content the ratings are going to plummet which will be used to justify shutting down the station.
They aren’t trying to justify anything. The station has lost money every year. It's clearly running on a skeleton crew until they're contractually allowed to shut the station down. It’s tough. JR told me years ago that none of the TSN stations made money. He said the last broadcast contract included English TV/radio/internet(streaming). I guess the next contract won’t specify radio as a mandatory medium.Wonder what/if the Sens put into it every year…
Also wonder what the hole is - it’s some of the best advertising they can get, pretty much (was) 12 hrs a day of Sens coverage.
If I were them I’d consider funding it as a marketing tool.
I think they all do.They aren’t trying to justify anything. The station has lost money every year.

I would say TSN690 is probably;y the most successful of them all. They still have a full slate of shows even some on the weekend and nights.Well, they need the ads to pay the bills but they put so many ads on that it drives away listeners and with fewer listeners they get less for the ads.
Mainstream media is all dying a slow death but radio is going quicker than the others.
Everytime I go to it, it's the same program as TSN1200, I've stopped listening to the radio when in the car. .I would say TSN690 is probably;y the most successful of them all. They still have a full slate of shows even some on the weekend and nights.
I switch to TSN 690 in the car quite often… TSN 1200 spend a too much time talking about non sports topicsEverytime I go to it, it's the same program as TSN1200, I've stopped listening to the radio when in the car. .
I shall check that there's at least 35% can-con in your posts.Must you be licensed to have a youtube channel?
Strange how you need a CRTC license to broadcast, but can post on youtube and other media with no license.
Actually, we here are un-licensed..
Facebook, X, instagram, etc...
incredible to realize the workaround that exists.
podcasts are not licensed!!!!
You guys with Post Master General, How is this allowed?
no money.. too small a market.Too bad someone else doesn't start a new sports radio station that deals mostly with Ottawa sports. TSN have dropped the ball & clearly don't care about Ottawa sports or their fans. They seem to be catering to what Toronto wants & sends that broadcast across the country.
If cable sports channels can't make money with all the new content out there, we'll return to a weekly one-hour feature on network tv.no money.. too small a market.
Sports Media is dying.. If you consume as I do, you see the slow (not so slow) death
TSN and SportsNet TV is garbage.. I mean garbage. Literally nothing on.. And when there is, it is so little content, they stretch it a mile to maximize its air time.
Last week's Pen's-Cap's game was replayed in Sportsnet a solid 1/2 dozen times.
Sports documentary's are replayed 100-200 times in a 2-3 year period. And if they are general enough and not too dated, they resurface 2-3 after that and get played 100-200 times for the next 2-3 years.
The USA-Team Canada women's hockey rivalry documentary has been on 500-1000 times.
The Wickenhiser documentary 500-1000 times
and so on
so if TV is dead.. what of radio? It is so dead, it is coming back as a zombie.
If cable sports channels can't make money with all the new content out there, we'll return to a weekly one-hour feature on network tv.

I hate 690. Bunch of clowns. Other than Overdrive (not in the summer) most shows on all stations have fallen off. I’ve been listening to SXM 92 beginning around 9am.I switch to TSN 690 in the car quite often… TSN 1200 spend a too much time talking about non sports topics
What’s on 92, sure you don’t mean 91I hate 690. Bunch of clowns. Other than Overdrive (not in the summer) most shows on all stations have fallen off. I’ve been listening to SXM 92 beginning around 9am.
