Maybe TSN 1200 can hire the best of the bunch who were let go.

I don't need to hear their opinions of social issues that have nothing to do with sports. When Jr players were accused of rape that had something to do with sports. George Floyd had nothing to do with sports and I wish they would have kept their opinions to themselves and allow people an escape from the bullshit of our day to day lives.
agreed...

but George FLoyd, caused the Black lives matter movement, which was a derivatives of 'I cannot breath" and so on.. Basketball players in warm up were holding their hands up, signifying I surrender..to signify, I surrender, do not shoot.

Prior to that, we had Kapperneck.
At the same time, Brianna Tayler and say her name..the WNBA

60% of NFL is black, 60 % of CFL is black, 80% of NBA, 5% of MLB, 5% of NHL, 80% of CEBL, 30-40% of MLS, 30-40% of CPL.

The NBA players refused to play a game in the bubble on the heels of issues regarding George Floyd.

Intertwined..interconnected..they cannot be separated.

all I ask.. treat it properly.

Mendes would suggest all men are rapists.. Makramella, all people are bigots..Schrader and Anwar, all men are evil.

AJ has been reserved.. He threw win a couple of harsh remarks. I get you, but he otherwise has been reasonably low key.

Discuss any subject.. do it intelligently, and neutrally/fairly..

At least AJ and jr are here.
AJ and creech do just fine afaic.
Really too bad they didn’t go with simmer and JR in the mornings. Would have been ok if they’d done that.
But they screwed it up.

Let's not bring George Floyd into this board please. The cops that killed him deserve whatever they get in prison. And Floyd was a POS himself who has been made into some hero.

I very rarely listen live. I listen to the taped segments on their site.
I have tried multiple times to listen to complete hourly segments with JR and Lloyd discussing whatever... man I can't make it through the whole segment. Lloyd is just the wrong guy to pair with JR on that morning show. Pretty much the only thing that is enjoyable to listen to now is when Poulie or Mikey come on. Give Creech a shot there.
I understand that these cuts were financially driven but wow they really are not helping themselves.

Same.
Love JR, and he can be a host or a good partner but Lloyd (who I also like but not in this role) is strictly a host and he’s playing colour man here.

The combinations just aren’t very good right now unfortunately.
Like him or not (I liked him a lot) Simmer brought a lot to the table, personality, former player, former management, connections, and strong opinions he could bounce back off of JR.

It seems so obvious to have kept Lee and AJ, and along with Simmer and JR.

Simmer was undeniably a funny guy, and brought some good insight to the table. And he and JR had great chemistry together, although he and Mendes were even better imo.

But speaking for myself, I'm pretty happy not to hear his moaning and groaning first thing in the morning anymore. I just don't need a wet blanket smothering my hope and optimism before I've even fully woken up. I want to hear guys like Dave Poulin for my morning intake, and to start my day off on the right foot.

I could handle Simmer and his fairly predictable takes on the Sens much better in the afternoon. I know he's right on lots, maybe even more than he's wrong on. But again, he's just not the voice I want to hear first thing in the morning.

Wasn't a fan of Simmer but thought he should have been moved to the morning because that was the best fit. Should have kept Lee and AJ together.

just when I am trying to be understanding.

The team is Alpine....... it is French, the pronunciation is Al Pin. Not the English "Al pine"

if you have been watching F1 on Skysports for the last 3 years, you would have heard the exaggerated British accent and called it Al PEEEN

David Kroft and his Daybris in the Gaa-ra-ge.

UGGGHHH.. you guys cannot be consuming any sports what so ever?

JR and Lloyd are both hosts and it makes the mornings extremely vanilla now. I make a point to tune in for the Poulin segment if I'm driving around but beyond that I'm rarely ever flipping over.

I feel like AJ to the morning isn't going to happen because of his other commitments, but for entertainment puposes I think it makes more sense to have JR and Lloyd "running" their own shows and having AJ/whoever is left adding the colour.

Can't even generate excitement for the draft this year. Just nothing to grab your attention at this point.

Potential trades = potential 1st rd or 2nd rd picks. Could also be a potential zero ... draft day = crap shoot ....

the morning show is not the same without simpson. No back and forth just them pretty much reporting the news around the league

perfect time to deep dive into the implications of DBC situation and what option were/are out there

Simpson is missed

They'll have coverage of the draft starting at 2 this afternoon, rather than the now-usual 4.

Shame it's come to this. Imagine, local sports coverage on the local sports station...

did you listen to Gord, Dean and Kenny W yesterday?

Dean playing on the internet and throwing out nuggets.
Gord trying to run the show
Kenny offering junior hockey expertise.

@BondraTime , in Kenny's role would have been better
@Micklebot, in Gord's role would have been better
and any of the 100 of us on here in Dean's role would have been better.

It was an OMG 3 hours.. I hope that it repeats itself again today.

Strangely entertaining though. It was like watching the Rocky Horror Picture show... I kept waiting for "let's do the time warp again"

Yes, I did listen and it was dreadful. But it was dreadful before the recent cuts - I remember one or two drafts ago it took 20 minutes to recap the handful of prospects Ottawa had selected because Dean couldn't shut up for 45 seconds.

@Sens of Anarchy I couldn't think of a perfect guy in Dean's role, until just now... You.

Dean sounded hammered or something. He wasn't making much sense and was talking out of turn and saying some oddball things. It was a strange broadcast, that's for sure.

Wish they hadn't canned Simmer. Bell is pathetic.

My expectations were low, and it at points it was so bad bad it was good, but Dean/Gord/Kenny doing the draft was the weirdest broadcast I'd ever heard.

Gord was "fine" and Kenny was doing his best, but Dean was having an all-timer last night. The moments that stick out are when he made that weird aside to David Bell and the chaos that ensued and then when the Leafs drafted the kid out of London and he said something along the lines of "That kid has his phone in his front pocket, and it's a massive phone" and then like 10 seconds of dead air as Gord tries to figure out where to go next.

It would have been embarrassing if the recent cuts weren't very clearly the beginning and theystation had anyone else they could have thrown in that spot, but given theres like 6 staff left they clearly couldn't.

If the end of local sports radio in this town means the end of Dean Brown it'll almost have been worth it :sarcasm:

AJ play by play
Jeff Avery colour
JR stats
Bunda , side line
Creech, half time, pre and post
Ellington, half time, pre and post

TSN emptied the cupboards on Friday. Lloyd was about all that was left.

Of course it's just Steve Lloyd this morning. Him and Hammer. JR on vacation. Haven't listened since the changes and this is what's on. Just fold it.
