are trying to ease their way into an ESPN like model.. Single programing based upon hosts that can be anywhere, but are principally located in a central local (Toronto).

give them a chance guys.. It is their livelihoods and their dreams.. Many grew up as sports fans/junkies. A chance to work in that medium is a dream. It is hard to see that fizzle. And it is unfair.

Plus, be careful of what you wish for. If TSN1200 goes under, you will get US based radio. Which is 6 minutes on, 6 minutes off. 2 minutes of imbedded commercials. So 4 minutes on, 8 off. You will long for local guys. AJ talking about how he loves his "Pouteeeeene" will be music to your ears ahead of "WE ARE FOX SPORTS!!!" and obnoxious, yell and be as bombastic as you can American hosts.

Your own is always better than an outsider.. trust me.. support your own.

I agree it sucks what they're doing to TSN1200.

Went from 'Three Guy's On the Radio' to 'Three Guys at the Station' pretty fast. Anyone know when the Sens broadcast contract ends? That'll probably be the final song for Sports talk radio in this city. Sad

Seriously tough I said this many years ago during layoffs around 2019. They are going to merge 580 CFRA and TSN 1200 at some point. CRFA's afternoon and evening line ups are garbage and could use Sens Games, 67's games( they arleady carry 67's games on Sens nights), and Redblack games. I could see them having a line up of 5am-2pm CFRA and TSN 2-6 and later for games. They are already using the same building. It will b like The Ottawa Sun and the Ottawa Citizen.

Takes me back to 1997 before OSR 1200 was started. In those days CFRA would broadcast Senators games and had a 6PM sports talk show.

it is his ancestral home. He is of; part eastern European heritage. He is seeing that home being destroyed. And people that he is of, being harmed.

North Americans have to a large extent, never seen war on their soil. 1865 was the last time. And that was a civil war. North Americans have never felt the fear of invasion, of occupation, of harm. We have never felt the fear and the shock of stories of mass killings, of bombed out large buildings...

yes, AJ has spent the better part of the last few hours, in on/off fashion, talking about that and the Ukraine/Russian conflict. His show ended with he and a phone-in guest discussing it. Very well, I may add. Rather intelligently.

To be fair to AJ, he discussed a multitude of subjects. Of player omissions and of player conduct. I have not really tuned it that much, but Theo Flurey is Joe Rogan, only with hair.

I am neutral on this, I thought that he was reasonable and not over the top.

I have heard Mendes call every male a potential rapist and have it go by without issue. Shreidaer, Anwar et all, have so male bashed, I believe that it is widely accepted that covid and cancer are male conditions and viruses.

I kind of don't mind the middle of the day show being cut because that was already a painful time slot to listen to despite Lloyd being a pro. Sad to see the morning and/or afternoon shows being scaled back though.

As someone who has been critical of this station on this board over the years, I'm still going to be sad to "hear" it go. Despite local AM radio not being my first option for sports content, it was nice that it was an option at all. The writing seems to be on the wall now as far as the future of the station so I'm going to try and be a little less critical and just enjoy it while it's around.

The key is, can you discuss them in a neutral, fair, equal points to all sides/all perspectives? There, I will agree with both of you. They have done a poor job.

And by the time 4pm rolls around it is old news.

Well in the summer they we’re not usually on from 10-2 before.

I don't need to hear their opinions of social issues that have nothing to do with sports. When Jr players were accused of rape that had something to do with sports. George Floyd had nothing to do with sports and I wish they would have kept their opinions to themselves and allow people an escape from the bullshit of our day to day lives.
