The hit was so illegal he hasn’t been fined or suspended again
Crazy right? The hit was so illegal he hasn’t been fined or suspended again
Agreed. Fighting grows the game. No casual sports fan is just gonna tune in to see skating or a michigan goal. They will tune in and be interested if hockey goes back to like 2012 time range where nyr racked up around 80 fighting majors. The direction hockey is going in with it turning into euro figure skaters is not good for the bizz and growing the viewer base, rempe is the nhl’s wet dream right now. Folk hero, 6’8 guy in the leagues biggest market
Buddy, read that again. People are worried about excessive contact to *his* head. Why has no one been able to show head contact on this hit? Is it because there was none?
Sam Bennett? Not in the same weight class.Hope Bennett gets a hold of him tomorrow night. He can really throw 'em.
Actually glad that the NYR have him. Big market buzz is always good for the league.. Low energy Bettman isn't going to generate a damn thing on his own.Rempe is bringing views to the league, and casual fans coming to turn the games on. We need more of that.
He has the lead on Hockey Fights: Matthew Rempe vs. Ryan Reaves, March 2, 2024 - New York Rangers vs. Toronto Maple Leafs | HockeyFightsIf by "crank up" you mean eat four right hands in a row and call the refs in, then yes, he most certainly "cranked up Reave"
I like the kid but he relies on his size way too much, his fighting skill isn't great...3 L's in a row.

Majority of Reaves punches hit his shoulder pads since he’s too tall. Once you really watch the fight you’ll see how Rempe cranked Reaves (like majority of the league nowadays, though)
This is just wrong. Reaves clearly landed more punches and very much more solid punches. Reaves is disliked and Rempe is the shiny new toy, some people can't remove bias and give objective opinions. He has the lead on Hockey Fights: Matthew Rempe vs. Ryan Reaves, March 2, 2024 - New York Rangers vs. Toronto Maple Leafs | HockeyFights

He hasn't done that yet. He has fought some top enforcers in the game. He trying to make a name for himself. He is learning already. He fought a more patient and more displined fight against Reaves. He is one tough kid.I like a good fight but he should pick his spots better imo. He shouldn't fight every goon that is trying to stay relevant....

Definitely could call a charge.People calling for a suspension are bananas. It was a shoulder to shoulder hit. Its not even penalty worthy

You literally posted a picture of Reaves hitting his shoulder pad lmao. Remp free in your head old man.
Did the league grandfather him in to no visor? I missed that i guess. No real advantage that he had a visor covering half his face either right?
what part of the charging rule do you not understand?People calling for a suspension are bananas. It was a shoulder to shoulder hit. Its not even penalty worthy

Nothing Rempe can do about that, Reaves knew it going into the fight. No real advantage that he had a visor covering half his face either right?
He just beat Rempe, He is 6'8.Nothing Rempe can do about that, Reaves knew it going into the fight.
Watch the fight closer, you’ll see Reaves only lands MAYBE one punch, the rest hit Rempe’s visor/shoulder pads.
Reaves is too small, and at his age, doesn’t have the athleticism to beat a 6’8 guy.
“Heavy bag”
lmao. guy can't fight for shit
he would get his ass handed to him and more if this was the 90s or 2000s
