Yes, his skates were barely still in contact with the ice at the hit. He ended up way high because he was launching himself upwards, which is an absolute scumbag thing to do for a dude who is already 6'8

If you're 6'8" and launching upwards it means you're less likely to make meaningful contact. The upward trajectory after impact happens on almost every hit.

I mean Reaves handled him pretty easily even with the insane reach advantage. Those little defensive pops Rempe threw weren't nearly as effective as the bombs Reaves was connecting with. Good on the kid though, he's taking on some tough customers. He's taking some huge shots though. He needs to stop fighting recreationally and do it when he needs to, and don't jump into hits bud you're already huge.

I love how he's putting it on the line, he's doing every single thing in his power to stay in the NHL. There's something really special about that. That said, totally agree. Now he has put the league on notice, he needs to start picking his spots and make sure he's timing fights to help the team above all else.

You do realise most fights that where there is not a takedown that they ask each other if they are done. Whether they are winning, losing or drawing. It happens nearly every time.

I would've expected Reaves to do better against Rempe. The kid has practically no defense.

It's difficult to get past Rempe's reach (that seems like his only defense lol) but agreed, although Reaves almost connected on a few big shots to the chin.

Rempe lost that one but he did pretty well honestly. It was not like that fight vs Olivier that was the worst beating I've seen someone take in a hockey fight in a long, long time.

Longer went the worse it got for rempe. Surprised the old guy had better stamina. Reaves landed the only real damaging punches

Draw. Rempe tagged Reavo with a couple of good punches especially early on, but Reaves came back pretty strong. Decent tilt. Rempe is really impressive, kid will only improve. You can see he's already using his reach more and being more defensive.

I'd call that about as effective as any 4th liner can be
