3rd Planet From Sun.
Why the hell is MacDermid scratched tonight against Toronto.

We could've seen him and Reaves go.
Reeves barely fights anymore. The Leafs do play the Rangers next weekend though so we may get a chance to see him get 1 there.
If Rempe wants to be considered the new hw champ of the league that is a big name to cross off his list.

I can enjoy hockey and enjoy the fact that hockey has fighting.

I love the fighting too, especially real tilts like this one

We used to able to love great fights, breakaways, dangles, huge checks and goals - we used to have players who did it all

Now we barely get huge hits or good fights. We still get the rest, but it’s been missing the other side of the coin

I thought Deslauriers was out of the league like 5 years ago.
This is why the big boys love Rempe. They’re a dying breed and Rempe is young blood in the playpen. The real tough guys are like a fraternity. And frankly, while I don’t care for fighting in general, if these guys are game it’s fine. I really hate cheap spots and mismatches. This is not that.

This will for sure happen. And it will be epic.

If there were no long term consequences, I'd agree fights are fun. CTE takes the enjoyment out of it for me. And the league has just seen a player break the record for wins as a goalie, is seeing another chase down the record for goals, has probably the fastest player that's ever played, the trap is dead... are you not entertained? Then maybe MMA is more your thing.
I don't understand people who hate hockey the way it's been for 100 years yet still watch and comment about it.

If I hated Chinese food, I am not going to sit at a Chinese Buffet and tell everyone how much better the buffet would be if it were all Italian food.

Just go somewhere else if it's not your thing.

I'm not the one complaining about the state of hockey. You are.

Hits are far more likely to cause CTE compared to today's fights.

I'd also like to point out that Wayne Gretzky has often spoken out against fighting. You're gonna tell Wayne Gretzky he should go elsewhere?

Agreed it is not a joking matter and hope he does not accept every invite because he will get many
To be fair, most teams don’t have a real heavyweight. Not sure there are going to be that many invitations. Reaves, sure. A few others. Mostly it’s middleweights.

Fighting and snarl is what makes hockey entertaining. If it was just skating and scoring and skating back to the bench, very few would watch. Nhl needs to lean into what makes it unique and what draws new fans. What rempe is doing is drawing in new fans. But then theyll watch devs play another figure skating team and be checked out. Nhl needs more rempes
I don’t really agree that the league needs more fighting. But it’s a valid point. The league would be wise to make a choice. NHL walks such a fine line.

Just weird how it wasn’t an issue for him before.

Much like Yzerman, he wasn’t anti fighting when Probert and Kocur were around with him.

First of all how do you know it wasn't an issue with him before? Just because he thought McSorely was necessary for his safety doesn't mean he believed that's how it should have been.
Second of all, we've learned a lot about the devastating effects of fighting on players' health, so it wouldn't be all that surprising if he had changed his stance after receiving new information. That's also what happened to me.
