Tommy John 2, has anybody come back from 2 of them?
Yes, Eovaldi did well. But many failures, many mediocre returns, some still pending. Walker Buehler, Dustin May are recent double TJ pitchers. I think its a big risk in terms of pitching expectations for Ohtani. Realistically he only has maybe 5-6 more years for pitching anyways.

McClanahan and DeGrom are on the TBD list, Rasmussen had two TJs before he even played pro ball. This past season was Rasmussen’s first time exceeding 100+ innings in four pro seasons and he ended up having another procedure for his elbow.

At least if pitching becomes doubtful for Ohtani then he can salvage his value by moving to the OF and still being a top hitter.

i know its been mentioned but the jays were smart to make the the state of the art pitcher factory and training, sports science development facility. we are just seeing the fruits of it a couple years later but we constantly here it from draftees and free agents in recent times

also looking in to a potential glasgow trade buyers bewarned it has not worked out well besides for the rays trading there ace

here are some past examples lol
archer trade Sources: The Rays will be getting Austin Meadows and Tyler Glasnow back in the deal for Chris Archer.

snell trade
Padres get: LHP Blake Snell
Rays get: RHP Luis Patiño, RHP Cole Wilcox, C Blake Hunt, C Francisco Mejía

pretty sure they came out like gang busters in the price deal as well

Trading with the Rays for a big name is always tempting but it's about the dumbest thing any GM can do.

Only reason I would ever talk to the Rays is to find out which prospects they want so I'd know which guys I should hang on to.

That Snell trade was a big W for the Padres.

He had the surgery two weeks after this article

If Ohtani tells the Jays go trade for Soto and I’ll sign. Otherwise I’m a Dodger. How crazy would the Padres ask have to be to say no?

Tiedemann, Manoah, Jansen, Orelvis, Barriera and Roden?

Let's not go nuts, now. We're still talking about a one-year rental on a Boras client who has already rejected a $440 mil contract.

I think it's one major piece+smaller pieces. So something around Tiedemann+ or Manoah+.

Also, if we're going all-in I think we definitely need to keep Jansen.

Obviously that would be a crazy ask but it’s a thought experiment. In this imaginary world you’re essentially trading for Soto and Ohtani because without the trade you get neither. How ridiculous would the ask have to get for you to prefer just signing Candilero and Hoskins instead and calling it a day?

You'd be surprised how generous I am with Rogers' money!

Besides, with the amount I've paid them over the years, they should be able to afford to bring in all 4.
