Vs lefties

LF - Merrifield
SS - Bichette
1B - Gurrerro
3B - Chapman
RF - Springer
C - Jansen
DH - Kirk
2B - De Jong
CF - Varsho/Kiermaier

So De Jong is your positional player upgrade vs lefties. Merrifield will probably play LF vs lefties. It looks like it was too hard to find a righty DH better then Kirk/Jansen, a LF better then Merrifield or a 2B better then De Jong. Because everyone else is a fixture on this team.

It was super obvious they needed someone who could hit lefties in the offseason. It's only become more obvious throughout the season. How did they not do anything to address it? Dumb.

The only thing that can make up for it at this point is calling up Schneider.

Perhaps the price wasn't appealing.

Would have liked a OF Bench bat, but realistically when they signed Green this offseason we essentially all said that Ryu and Green would be as good as 2 deadline acquisitions. So adding 3 or 4 other players to the roster was asking a lot.

We get a starting pitching upgrade(Ryu), 2 pen upgrades(Green, Hicks), and a defensive SS(De Jong) for a 24 year old A+ reliever 2 depth starters in AA and money(the Ryu and Green contracts). To add to the team that was best in the AL in the last couple months. Hopefully the RISP hitting comes around because this team is a really good one.

Yea I really don’t understand not bringing in the righty bat. I’ll assume Seattle overplayed their hand and got stuck holding onto teo

I've been asking for him for weeks. He just fits.

Like that lineup SHOULD produce. Very good on paper.

That’s how I see it too. Too many teams overplaying their hand. Unless I’m mistaken, the only guy to move who we could have used was Pham.

DeJong to 2B and Whit to LF could be a move to get that righty bat in the OF without risking defense with a guy like Teo or Pham.

Mancini is still a possibility as he just got DFA’d. Mitch White for Mancini?
