I am sure last season that Caufield could have finished the season and they probably suggested he give up and have the surgery. If there is anything wrong with any of the key players they could ask them to sit out and not risk a bigger injury.

You can be sure agents bring up games played when negotiating.
I've never heard of bonuses unless it's for a player who's coming off an injury riddled couple of seasons like Monahan got.

they're only two points ahead of us now. But they have an easy schedule to close out year. But they have to actually get some wins.

Then next year, we don't want them to be bottom 10, but it now looks for sure like they'll go through a rebuild. We'll see what they do in the offseason.

We have to best Calgary's final record by 3 pts, Ottawa's by 2 an Arizona's by 1 thanks to that tie breaker.

Saturday is just massive, if we lose, then it's a 4 pt cushion by Ottawa, and any combition of Ottawa gaining a point or us losing a point in the final 2 games would make it mathematically impossible we pass them.
