I am not a tank fan but you ve got to admire Anderson s dedication to tanking. The guy is systematically taking the wring decision in all zones.

Would be a great cap relief!buddy may actually retire this offseason.
And there big chances that it's going to be decided by the Habs last two games. But really, it's all in Detroit's hands. Their last remaining games are Leafs, Capitals, Pens and Habs x2...The battle of the last wild spot in the East is intense!![]()
5 games left.
* 2 at home and 3 on the road
* 1 against the Sens on the road
* Home and home against the Wings to finish the season who are chasing the playoffs.
* One against the Islanders who are chasing the playoffs.
If we win 2/5, there is a good chance we finish 5th last. Habs don't have many RW's so if we end up tied with another team, we will get the lower seed.
Outside of their game against us, I don't think Ottawa has much of a chance in any of their remaining games. If we beat them in regulation then it's probably a safe bet that we finish above them. That game against the Sens is absolutely must-lose. I know we haven’t been good against them recently, but if anything that scares me more because the guys will be motivated to get one against them before next season.
I don't think anybody would be suprisedWhat if we end up picking 5th and the Sens and Yotes end up picking better players at 6th and 7th?

Like I get it, the lower you finish, the higher your chances at drafting a great player...it's just if you look at the draft historically, that's just not true.I don't think anybody would be surprised![]()

You don't scout a draft slot, you scout players.
The Habs are going to clearly end up 5, 6 or 7...wherever they land, they just have to make sure not to miss.
Yeah I get that, but we're splitting hairs at this point. I think there's what? a 2% difference between 5th to 7th?I just don't want to pass Calgary cause that puts us a little bit deeper into the draft class than I'd like, especially if anyone behind that pick jumps up.
And I don't want to pass Ottawa because it's a f***ing joke they are even near us.
That being said, it's all about the incremental improvements in the draft lottery odds for Celebrini. I'll take the extra percentages if we can get them.
Yotes drafting is bad and I don't have much faith. Sens drafting is strong, I'm expecting it to be much better than our selection. What if we end up picking 5th and the Sens and Yotes end up picking better players at 6th and 7th?
True but where you have similarly ranked players at a given draft slot and you can draft one that doesn’t have the rib cage of a chicken, you fill more than one need as there are only so many smallish players a team can roster — and with Caufield and Hutson as part of this team’s future, give me the 6’4 specimen, all other things being similar.Like I get it, the lower you finish, the higher your chances at drafting a great player...it's just if you look at the draft historically, that's just not true.

Is it? Debatable...but we're talking about an entirely new scouting staff from the one that was in place the last decade or so.Yotes drafting is bad and I don't have much faith. Sens drafting is strong, I'm expecting it to be much better than our selection.
If it were up to me, we would fire our entire scouting department and replace it with an espionage department with the goal of obtaining Dallas's draft list every year. What if we end up picking 5th and the Sens and Yotes end up picking better players at 6th and 7th?
Sure but this assumes that whoever you're picking is destined to be a Montreal Canadiens.True but where you have similarly ranked players at a given draft slot and you can draft one that doesn’t have the rib cage of a chicken, you fill more than one need as there are only so many smallish players a team can roster — and with Caufield and Hutson as part of this team’s future, give me the 6’4 specimen, all other things being similar.
Better chance to scoop up that guy at 5th than 7th.
If I'm in the Habs organization, I want to have the luxury of the choice though. Of course, sometimes, it's convenient when the teams in front of you make the wrong choices and the right players fall on your lap. However, if I'm Hughes or Gorton, I want my staff to have the bigger pool to choose from, for better or worse.Yeah I get that, but we're splitting hairs at this point. Meh....but again, I get it, it would be sweet to somehow win the lottery, but I'm not pressed about finishing 5, 6 or 7. Not with the way this draft is looking.
I'd like the Habs organization or rather, i'd like to have the type of faith in the Habs organization that kind of like @BergevinBurner just wrote, that I have full confidence in them wherever they're selecting and i'm not depending on a bunch of fortunate events coming together like a butterfly effect to select the best player. If I'm in the Habs organization, I want to have the luxury of the choice though. Sweet mother of god ! …. The shadow puppet possibilities!! Limitless! He’s got so many fingers.
People like saying he's a North South player.I am not a tank fan but you ve got to admire Anderson s dedication to tanking. The guy is systematically taking the wring decision in all zones.
The remaining schedules for the Canadiens, Coyotes, Senators and Flames are as follows
Canadiens - Flyers, Islanders, Senators, Red Wings x2
Coyotes - Kraken, Canucks, Oilers, Flames, Oilers
Senators - Panthers, Lightning, Canadiens, Rangers, Bruins
Flames - Sharks, Kings, Ducks, Coyotes, Canucks, Sharks
Would be a great cap relief!
Too bad Hughes didn't capitalize by trading him last year. I could only imagine what we might have received.![]()
