I hope we can get 1 of Demidov/Lindstrom. Or even better, if we can win the lottery and get Celebrini. I don't think we'll have another chance any time soon to draft so high.
I agree, one of those three would really solidify the top 6 for the contention years. No need to tank/draft high after that imo. Habs have their future D set, the future goaltending hopefully, and when healthy, have 5 of the future top 6. I was hesitant on if Newhook could be a top 6 player but if he had Dach all year and was healthy, I have no doubt he'd easily get between 50 and 60 pts

The remaining schedules for the Canadiens, Coyotes, Senators and Flames are as follows

Canadiens - Flyers, Islanders, Senators, Red Wings x2

Coyotes - Kraken, Canucks, Oilers, Flames, Oilers

Senators - Panthers, Lightning, Canadiens, Rangers, Bruins

Flames - Sharks, Kings, Ducks, Coyotes, Canucks, Sharks

Jeez...with that Flames schedule if we pass them.... I'll be so upset

Sole possession of 5th last!

(though heading into our last 5 games against weaker opposition).

Canadiens: Flyers, Isles, Red Wings all fighting to make playoffs. Only Ottawa is out of playoff contention.

Coyotes: Canucks and Oilers will likely want to rest their players - no benefit in winning/losing games at this point. Kraken and Flames are out of playoff contention.

Senators: Rangers and Bruins might fight to stay on top of conference (President's Trophy + face WC2 instead of Tampa). Panthers and Bolts will want to rest their players - no benefit in winning/losing games at this point. Only Habs out of playoff contention.

Flames: LOL

wow, thank the heavens the Flames have an easy final 5 games!

I'll actually be rooting for the yotes to beat them hopefully by that game, because they'll aready be so far ahead of us. Hopefully.

BIg game for the Yotes against the Kraken next game. It's almost must win for our tank.

Canucks won't rest anyone as they are battling Edmonton for 1st in the Pacific as 2nd place plays Vegas. Panthers aren't resting anyone as it is their next game and are battling Toronto for home ice.

Damn - feels good but YOU KNOW Ottawa aint winning again all year.
I think it is still a 6th vs 7th place battle.

PHI - win
NYI - loss
OTT - win
DET x2 - win/lose

76 points is my current guess.

3 weeks ago : Ottawa is not winning any game ever again
*Ottawa proceed to win 6 more games*
Yesterday : Ottawa is not winning any game ever again
*Ottawa wins tonight*
Tonight after the games : Ottawa is not winning any game ever again

I don't think Leafs will pass Panthers. Panthers are playing Ottawa, CBJ, Buffalo, and then Toronto. They will show up against Toronto and that's it.

Also, you might be right about not wanting to play Vegas, but Nashville, IMO, is looking far more dangerous since the 2nd half of the season. I personally would rather fight Vegas over Nashville.

Going to be near impossible to stay ahead of Arizona given their schedule unless we lose out, which is unlikely. Hopefully we can at least stay 6th.

Usually teams don't rest players until with a couple of games remaining not 5 or 6 as they want them to stay sharp unless they have a minor injury. I don't see Panthers, Oilers or Canucks resting anyone that is healthy until game 81 not 78

You're right, but I do believe they'll take it "easy" for those games. Or they'll try new strategies to see what works/doesn't. They won't be playing to absolutely win.
