If MSL is away from team very long they may gain a position or two in draft. Team didn't seem like themselves in Calgary game. You could tell a difference in compete level.

Desired results for today:

- MTL regulation loss vs. EDM

- OTT win vs. BOS:
OTT win + MTL reg. loss = OTT moves 1 pt ahead with 1 game in hand.
- CBJ win vs. DET: CBJ win + MTL reg. loss = CBJ moves 2 pts behind. MTL with a game in hand.

- PIT OT/SO vs. NJD: It doesn't matter who wins, but a game in OT/SO would be ideal. NJD are 7 pts ahead and PIT are 8 pts ahead. Whoever wins and whoever gets a loser pt will only create a bit more separation with a MTL reg. loss.

*MTL could end the night in 27th place (Bottom-6) if OTT beats BOS (however unlikely that will be) and MTL loses in regulation.*

Really tough schedule incoming:

@ Oilers, @ nucks, @ kraken, @ Avs
v.Flyers, v.Canes, v.Cats, v.Bolts, v.laffs
@ Rags, v.Flyers, @ Isles, @ Sens, @ Wings, v.Wings

Only two B2Bs in that stretch, though.

How many of those do we win? 3?
Sure maybe we only win 3 but the Sens suck so bad they will probably lose all their games and forfeit 4 points they already have.

We also have the Jets 1st to root for. That could be anywhere from 20th overall to 32nd overall.

Plus we have the Avs 2nd to root for, and that's not getting into the later 3rd round, 5th and 7th round picks.

I'm heavily rooting for the Stars to win that division. Who says there are only meaningless games in a tank year??

Ottawa @ Boston tonight. It seems like an auto loss, but Senators have actually played Boston well the last couple of years. Like with Toronto & Montreal, they get up for games against Boston. I'm hoping for one point from them.

Columbus @ Detroit. Detroit has been pretty crappy lately, but Columbus is pretty much crap all the time. Considering Detroit is now out of a playoff spot & playing for their playoff lives, a point out of Columbus is a win. I expect a loss, though.

Pittsburgh @ NJD: If NJ loses & Montreal wins, we're back to within 5 pts of NJD. It seems unlikely at this point, but ..... a 3 pt game would be nice here.

korpisalo is killing Ottawa atm... they have been surprisingly outplaying Boston this whole period.... I didn't have hope for Sens in this game anyway... but come on korpisalo your team is trying here!

Sens with in 1!

By the way, one thing I didn't take into consideration that I just noticed, if Habs lose in regulation, they drop down to 27th place.

Yotes and Habs are tied at 61 pts. Habs have a game in hand, which is why they're ahead. But Habs play that game in hand tonight. So if they lose in regulation, they are tied with Yotes at 61 pts in 68 GP. However, Yotes have the tie-breaker in RWs.

Damn, Ottawa got crushed again, 6-2 Final. Pastrnak with a hattrick.

Stupid Columbus blew the 2 pts in final 12 seconds. Well, at least they got a point from OT.

NJD - Pens as a 3 point game was perfect.

CBJ moves to within 3 pts of Habs, but Montreal has 2 games in hand (after Oilers game it's down to one game).

Pens 8 pts & NJD 9 pts up, respectively. Montreal really can't fall below 7th now.

Stupid Ottawa remains one point back. We can pass Arizona tonight with a loss.
