Damn, Senators got shelled by Carolina 7-2. That leaves them one point back with only one game in hand. Remember how they had 5 games in hand at one point & would easily pass us? Yeah, good times.

Columbus going to lose 5-1 to Jets. Toffoli with another goal.

At least Pens will go 8 pts up ending any chance of Montreal moving the wrong way. It's 7th or higher now.
Tanking is hard, there are so many mediocre to bad teams. Last 10 games, Montreal is 3-4-3, a decidedly mediocre 9 points. Around the Habs in the overall standings, over the last 10 you have CBJ 9 pts, Ott 7, Arz 10, Sea 9, NJ 6, Pit 7. So in the race to the bottom, they've only 'gained' on Arizona by 1 point and held steady or lost ground to everyone else.

Unlike the Sens or Sabres, I actually believe we are going in the right direction and we will be competitive sooner than later.

I believe in our core, especially in Nick and Juraj. And the fact we drafted so many goaltenders and they're doing great I don't believe it will be an issue in a few years.

We gotta hope our core of dmen is good enough! This is where we can badly fail if all of Hutson, Mailloux and Reinbacher don't live up to their expectation and Guhle tops as a top 4 D.

The Sabres are better now since they've dumped some of their under-performing Vets.
Byram for Mittelstadt is a big step in the right direction. We won't see Kale Clague playing 35 games for them certain.

Sabres are definitely going in the right direction. I'm not sure about some of their contracts, but they've got a great prospect pool and a lot of good pieces in every position.

Ottawa should be in a good place, but they keep fumbling it by overpaying bad goaltenders and not identifying their needs on D.

Montreal is also years behind both in the rebuild. So they're making up ground later. They need one or two good drafts/offseasons and continued development to get back to being a competitive team.

There is going to be a big battle for 29th between us , Ottawa , Arizona and Colombus

The game against the Sens on April 13 may end up being a very important - 4pts game. It's like when trying to make the playoffs as the 8th seed but in reverse

Really tough schedule incoming:

@ Oilers, @ nucks, @ kraken, @ Avs
v.Flyers, v.Canes, v.Cats, v.Bolts, v.laffs
@ Rags, v.Flyers, @ Isles, @ Sens, @ Wings, v.Wings

Only two B2Bs in that stretch, though.

How many of those do we win? 3?

Letowski will deliver us to the promise land.
They need to upgrade the coaching staff. It’s a joke they play man v man. I get you want to allow creativity but at some point you have to be able to defend.

Probably one of the weakest staffs in the entire league.

I hope it’s 0.

There's only a few options for a win

Canucks without Demko
Seattle
Flyers x 2 without Hart
Isles
Sens
Red Wings x 2

I think we end up drafting 5OA-6OA baring a lottery win.

We have a tough schedule coming ahaed but we all know how Habs play against top opposition. I hope we run out of gas sooner than later.

Long commute to the arena to play your game... :D
Except they all live in Kanata, Stittsville and Barrhaven…lol

That arena belongs downtown, still can’t believe it’s not there yet

3 W’s and 3 OT losses…..another 9pts and that should wrap it up

I'm pretty positive the Yotes and Ducks will take a dman while the Jackets take a forward. Sharks and Hawks will take anyone. Sens are a bit more of a mystery since they definitely need dmen, but likely not an offensive minded one which is most of the dmen besides Silayev/Dickinson. Not to mention that Norris's career could very well be over so they'd need to replace him Tarasenko and Giroux.
