They don't have much else and very few prospects. Stamkos will be done by then. Hedman will be 36 and could be fading. Vasilevsky will need to still be at the top of his game or they will be closer to the bottom 10 than top 10.

Closer to bottom 10 is fair assessment. Don’t see a full rebuild here though. They don’t have problems attracting UFAs, they will ice a decent team in the transition to the next era

Gauthier isn't that small. He's Suzuki-Roy size. He plays a hard, gritty game. He's more a bottom 6 prospect (3rd/4th liner), but I would prefer him over Howard.
