Why do we keep starting Monty against teams we’re trying to outtank? Not smart.

Why do people think it matters?

Montembeault or Allen or Primeau...the odds of winning or losing a game are exactly the same lol

Not to mention that the coaching staff/players, couldn't care less about "tanking".

Not really. Monty or Primeau yes. Allen has not been good this year. Odds are longer at winning a game with him in net.

There's no goalie on this roster who guarantees us a win or a loss by his sheer presence alone.

The margins aren't that thin (or large, depending on what side of the fence you sit on I guess lol).

Not to mention, again, the coaches/players don't care about securing a better draft slot.

There is no guarantee but the odds of a loss are better with Allen in the net against most teams. Coyotes are so bad it may not matter whether there is even a goalie in the net.

The odds are a whole lot better if they play Colin White between Caufield and Slafkovsky too.

But once again, it's not the coaches job to position the team team in a specific draft slot.

It is... shocking, how many people seem unable to grasp this simple notion..
No offense to whoever feels targeted..
But people have to be more realistic.

At the end of the day, Samuel Montembeault, the guy who apparently is the sole difference between winning and losing, thus securing a difference making player at the draft or not, is currently 29th in the NHL in sv % and 40th in GAA.

As "good" as he's been this season, it's still all relative because he doesn't singlehandedly tilt the ice for the Habs the way Carey Price used too.

It's not the same situation...Sam ain't bailing THIS roster out of the basement.

Keller is ruled out for tomorrow's match.

Oh I am not saying to play Allen. Just that the odds are somewhat better. MSL will play whoever he thinks has the best chance to win. With no Keller Coyotes will have trouble to beat an AHL team but the Habs are close to that with the current roster.

No GM is from the Gods. Not even Pollock finished his career here
What does that mean?

Not sure where to post this but there's an article about David Savard in The Athletic that reports the following following: 'There is a sense that frustration is growing among the young core of the team, and that is something management wants to quell, especially next season.' and that the stink of losing is difficult to shake isn't lost on the Habs.

Sounds like more influencer BS.
