Not sure where to post this but there's an article about David Savard in The Athletic that reports the following following: 'There is a sense that frustration is growing among the young core of the team, and that is something management wants to quell, especially next season.' and that the stink of losing is difficult to shake isn't lost on the Habs.

If Dach doesn't get injured Montreal probably doesn't tank, but at some point, you recognize that you're not making the playoffs, so getting a mid-pick is no reward.

They don't want to tank? Play better and show that this team is worth investing in because right now it isn't. Tanking is the right move. We'll see what happens next year.

what do you legends think of Carlson and Fantilli? Neither have blown me away or showed flashes of what Slaf does from time to time. Or have I missed something? That draft looks like Bedard--- > then a bunch of dudes we may or may not hear from again

Up until December most people thought Slaf was a total bust and wanted him to go to Laval etc... I think both players have a ton of potential and they will be just fine. Both like Slaf are also on bad hockey teams!

Yeah, nothing too flashy upto this point

It tells me the NHL is a hard f*ckin league and very hard on 18-19 year olds who are not generational talents

Nick and Caufield have gone to the Stanley cup final. Dach is always injure. So no complain for him lol. Slaf is barely 19 years old.

They should be okay for one more year of tank.

They won't be intending to tank next season and will probably try to add a player or 2 that will help next season. But if they are unable to and Dach goes down after 2 games next season there might be another bad season.

I think that the fact that they've already been to a final is an irritant for Suzuki and Caufield. Pure speculation but the frustration that's talked about I'm pretty sure they'd be the two guys.

You can't be serious.

Carlsson is doing pretty good on the tire fire ducks. Fantilli was finding his game before he got injured some weeks ago. One thing i’ll agree is that Slaf’s flashes and play has been pretty in par with those guys if not better. They are not Bedard but they are not turds at all.

Adding Dach and a ufa player won't make us automatically a playoff team. New jersey and NYI can't make it this year. What chance do we have? I can see us in the same position as Pittsburgh and Caps next season. Another top 10-13 pick in 2025.

We probably push for a playoff spot in the season of 2025-2026 with Reinbacher and the 2024 draft pick with the Habs.

With Dach and Newhook for the season and maybe an additional forward they will likely contend for a playoff spot. Everything will have to go well for them to make it but just contending until late should keep the players spirits up. And if they are close as they get to the deadline Hughes will probably try to add a player or 2.

Are you sober?

awwww, there it is.. so sad when the less than stellar posters here gotta resort to odd little jab out of nowhere. You ok? need a safe space?

I've watched a half dozen games, both their teams are about as awful as when Slaf started out so their performance is interesting to watch if nothing else.

Oh I am not saying to play Allen. Just that the odds are somewhat better. MSL will play whoever he thinks has the best chance to win. With no Keller Coyotes will have trouble to beat an AHL team but the Habs are close to that with the current roster.

What does that mean?
Pollock finished up running Blue Jays

90% of these teams are comfortably in the playoffs they will take it easy and play their backups uh oh

Teams after the deadline are all about being in playoff form, we may see back up goalies a bit but we will also see less of teams taking us for granted and dropping an egg
