I can't wait for us to rattle off 3 or 4 wins in a row and undo all the tank progress we made over the last 2 weeks lol

That’s why it’s important to unload Kovacevic if possible .

Unload Pearson also if possible, Allen . Anything that can help us staying in the bottom.

Yup - I'm only watching for sneak peeks at the incoming kids, plus more growth from Slafkovsky. Games have become a movie trailer for a movie that's coming next year.

Exactly.

It's a long season, especially during the first few years of a rebuild. It's doubly so when your predecessor leaves so much fat to be trimmed in a stagnant cap environment.

Next year is where things get very interesting even if it likely doesn't result in a playoffs appearance.

Year 3 of Slafkovsky
Year 1 of Hutson, Beck, Engstrom, Reinbacher, Mesar in AHL/NHL
Year 2 of Farrell, Roy, Mailloux

Watching our top 7 pick from this year's draft.

Dach returns. Newhook another year in the system. Guhle another year along with Xhekaj and Struble.

Next year is another tank year unless we get lucky and get Celebrini. Just not enough difference makers coming in.

If Dach stays healthy all year, Habs probably don't trade Monahan so early and they're probably around 3-5 games above .500. add in more development and maybe a top 5 pick, and other blue chip prospects and they're probably finishing around 20th next season. Before the Monahan trade they were point per game so pro rated 82 pts. With everything I mentioned, it's very possible they hit 90 pts

Nothing - Habs beat writers have made it pretty clear that the interest in Dvorak around the league is basically nothing.

I think we have no choice but to try to squeeze a good season out of him, let Beck simmer in the AHL, and go from there.

f***ing Bergevin man, it is truly amazing how many turds he left.
Or we can dump Evans and I recommend it.
His defensive play is totally over-rated and his work as our primary player on the worst PK in the league has to be put into question.
For me it boils down to what Owen Beck does or doesn't do in camp.

Dropping plugs should no longer be an issue at this point.
Is creating a hole worth more than a 3rd round pick?
There comes a time in the rebuilding process that you have to address the role players.
For me we are there.

No team can lose or win 82 games in a row. I think the record both way (winning and losing streak) is around 17-18. The closer you get to that number the higher the chances to just win or lose a game by sheer luck.

lol i know....But who knows how long that losing streak will continue.

We don't deal with hypotheticals. Dach was injured just he was 2 years ago. At this point, penciling him to miss at least a chunk of the season is the realistic thing to do based on history.

Gallagher, Armia, Dvorak, Anderson still with the team next year. It will be same old with maybe a couple more youngsters.

A dominant force in a men's league at 18/19 who sets records at every level.

You don't do that if you're a headcase, nor has there ever been any indication from anyone actually associated with him that is the case. It's "cope" from a fanbase desperate to justify Bobrov's asinine choices despite the man's atrocious pedigree and record.

And in place of the best prospect that the Canadiens would have drafted since Price, a generational talent,we took a bottom pairing defenseman.

You already know that Reinbacher will be a third pairing defenseman and that Michkov will be a generational forward.

Incredible.

Dach injury this year has nothing to do with his previous injuries. It's not a niggling injury or a wth is going on injury. It's badluck like Markov. Means nothing for the future.

Right, but next year's Habs don't have Monahan. They may have Dach, but there will likely be other players injured.

They also wont have tank commander Jake Allen.

It's far from impossible for this team next year to fight for a playoffs spot if Montembeault and Primeau are doing as well as this year. Making the playoffs extremely unlikely but fighting for it for a good part of the year not impossible at all.
