This was always going to happen the minute we moved Monahan.
Not a chance that our first line was going to continue that torrid pace and carry this team.
I think the goaltending and depth players lack of production is more the cause for losses than top line slowing down.

Too bad we have a guaranteed win scheduled Tuesday
If you are going to win the game. Better do it with 7-8goals!

The top 5 prospects in this year's draft all look really good. Hope we can get that top 5 pick.

Monahan was a big part of the team. Hopefully we tank this year, get that top 5 pick, and then re-sign Monahan in the offseason.
Monahan has been our third best player. With him gone, we only have one offensive line.

I really hope they sit Monty on Tuesday. I might be wrong but even if Habs get a OTL, ppt wise, they still leapfrog coyotes in the tank standings

Biggest game of the year on Tuesday, might be time to put a big bet down on a Habs win so I win either way
Would be great to catch Arizona and/or Columbus and finish bottom 4th or 5th.

Who are your top 5/6 prospects in the upcoming draft?

I'm not normally this negative, but in my heart of hearts I honestly believe this team is a long way from success. I've stopped considering Dach as a long term solution for our team. Dude can barely play half a season, let alone prove he's in any way better than Suzuki over a period of more than 5-10 healthy games. In terms of projecting the team, he's a permanent band-aid boy and I wouldn't be banking the future on him.

I used to be a Guhle fan but blegh. He's regressed this season and I've mentally given him every excuse I can find from his linemates to his deployment. Dude gets sent on his arse more times a game then the fake concern trolls were pretending Slaf did in the entirety of last year. Also, he's a bit of a band-aid boy too.

Caufield is unfortunately turning into what his likely worst NHL projectable self could be. 25-30 goal scorer and 60-70 points. If he projected as less of a scorer, his career would likely go the way of Drouin, because he provides absolutely 0 in terms of NHL hockey outside of scoring opportunities. Can't wait to see him spin around desperate to avoid any semblance of contact when pressured on the boards by a player 5+ feet away and lose the puck for the 5th time a game. He's basically 35+ year old Ovi. Caufield provides basically nothing in all zones apart from a scoring threat that occasionally passes, but he can barely score and has all of 3 more goals in 5 more games than Ovi this year whom everyone was speculating was done.

Goaltending is a an absolute void and anyone pretending Montemblow, Primeau, or some untested 2nd round+ nobody is our future are also kidding themselves.

All this said, let's pray to the hockey gods that Reinbacher, Hutson, or this year's pick don't see a serious development altering injury, which has happened before.

Even if all the above players work out 100%, Montreal still won't be a yearly favourite for the cup imo. In all honesty, at this point I'm just enjoying the process and ignoring the blaring alarms.
I don’t agree with your take but you could absolutely be right.

One thing I’d say to you though is that our team is extremely young. I don’t think Ghuele has regressed for example, he’s just being used in harder minutes. He has like 100 games under his belt and getting great experience.

Then we look at Caufield. He’s on pace for 300 plus shots. Normally that’d be good for 40 to 50 goals. I mean, maybe he shoots at under 9 percent for the rest of his career but I just don’t see that happening.

We’ve got a whack of really good young players and prospects. Some will pan out and some won’t. But the sheer volume of players not only bodes well for our future but can be used as currency in future trades.

No we’re not a playoff team next year but I don’t think we’re bottom five either. I think we’re actually in pretty good shape going forward.

As I said, your position could be correct but it’s overly pessimistic in my view. Absolutely everything would have to go wrong under your scenario and based on what I’ve seen I don’t think that’s going to happen.

We’ll see. Next years going to be really interesting.

Well, no, if Montreal gets a point and Arizona 2 points then Arizona is still one point back. Montreal is currently 2 points ahead. If Coyotes get a point against Winnipeg tomorrow night then you'd be right.

But, that is extremely doubtful. I expect a 12th consecutive loss for Arizona. In which case, they need to win in regulation on Tuesday to pass Montreal.
