Desired results for tonight:
- MTL reg. loss to WSH: WSH move 4 pts ahead with 2 games in hand.
- BUF OT/SO win vs. MIN: BUF win + MTL reg. loss = BUF tie MTL in pts but move ahead with 1 game in hand. MIN OT/SO loss + MTL reg. loss = MIN move 5 pts ahead with 1 game in hand.
- CGY win vs. DET: CGY win + MTL reg. loss = CGY move 5 pts ahead.
- NJD win vs. PHI: NJD win + MTL reg. loss = NJD move 8 pts ahead with 1 game in hand.
- CBJ win vs. SJS: CBJ win + MTL reg. loss = CBJ move 8 pts behind with 2 games in hand.
- NSH win vs. STL: NSH win + MTL reg. loss = NSH move 6 pts ahead.

*If MTL loses in regulation and BUF wins, MTL ends the night in 26th place (Bottom-7).*

So far I'm really satisfied with the tank. I hope we finish in bottom 5-7. But so far that's look good. With the progression of Slaf, that help the rebuild. Before his progression and draft day 2022, everyone say's that he is a weak 1st OV. But right now, he show that he is a really good 1st OV caliber.

Having a another top 10 pick this year, no matter it's a FW or a D, draft the BPA. Or if they have a offer to acquire a young forward with high potential, jump on that aswell. Depends what the offer is.

If it's a D, it's all fine to me because Hughes can easily trade some of young D's to acquire a young talented forward.

I’d be more happy if we were getting Celebrini/Lindstrom/Demidov this draft as we really need another stud forward - but hopefully they target someone in the next tier that can be that guy. I’m leaning Catton or Iggy.

Agree that would be the perfect scenario to draft Celebrini (it's possible with the lottery day), Lindstrom or Demidov. Catton or Iginla would certainly be a great consolation prize, for sure. I really like both, Catton have high offensive potential and Iginla can become a really good scorer at NHL level, with smart plays, great IQ, he can become a really good forward.

I think Cossa was the last one in 2021. There’s certainly been a drop off. I’m still not opposed to taking a chance on a goalie in the first round, I just wouldn’t use a top 10 pick on one.
I forgot about Cossa who has alot of developing to do

As long as the Kids play well....

Seeing Slaf doing so well, hearing all the good things Reinbacher is doing, and hearing about how good the top 8-10 is this year has me really excited to get hopefully a top 5 - 8 pick this year, to add a good piece to the core.

The tank is important. Each loss is important.

We should sign Jagr to play out the year. He's probably horrible defensively and skates like molasses but could just play on the PP. Teach Slaf how to use his butt. Win-lose-win situation.
