I wonder what it would cost to move up one or two spots. Last year would've been impossible – nobody was giving up a top-3/4 spot. This year? If the top 7 or 8 are close, Hughes might gamble the guy we want is available without having to trade up for him.
Mackenzie has two blueliners at 2 and 3. Then it’s Eiserman and Lindstrom. Ideally you want to be picking top five. But there are other good forwards after that. We obviously have blueliners to trade with so I think we could move up.

Yeah and the guy at 2 is projecting to be hedman, I still think pre lottery were at 5, only ones ahead of us are Anaheim, cbj, Chicago, San Jose. That should leave one of eiserman, lindstrom or demidov

Other than 1OV, I think all of CHI, SJ, ANA, CBJ would prefer a Dman this draft after bagging Bedard/Leo/Fantilli/Smith last draft.

Just a hunch.
If Rainman is as good as our scouts think he is (a Pientrangelo like dman) then drafting him might have been the right choice. There's pretty good dman available this year and like you said a few teams might lean toward a dman providing equal floor/ceiling. I'd like Lindstrom a lot personally but i don't see him being available past top 5.

Desired results for tonight:

- ARI win vs. FLA: ARI win moves them 6 pts ahead of MTL in the OA standings with 1 game in hand after tonight.
- WSH win vs. COL: WSH win moves them 7 pts ahead of MTL in the OA standings with 1 game in hand after tonight.
- STL win vs. VAN: STL win moves them 5 pts ahead of MTL in the OA standings with 1 game in hand after tonight.
- BUF win vs. LAK: BUF win moves them 1 pt ahead of MTL in the OA standings. MTL will have a game in hand after tonight.
- SEA win vs. CHI: SEA win moves them 5 pts ahead of MTL in the OA standings. Not even worth caring about CHI as they are currently 15 pts behind MTL.

*Take 2 of BUF passing MTL in the standings after they missed their assignment last night in ANA. So either MTL stays in 26th place if BUF loses or they drop to 27th place if BUF wins. If BUF loses in OT/SO and get the loser point, they will be tied at 47 pts with, however MTL would stay ahead as they will have a game in hand.

**BUF does have 8 more RWs than MTL. So if they are ever tied in pts and GP, then BUF has the edge there.**

6th would already be a huge win imo with how many trash teams there are this year.
Don't se a scenario where we draft higher barring a lottery win.

If Celebrini is drafted by San Jose. Very high chance Anaheim and Columbus (50%) draft a Dman. Hard to say about Chicago. Ottawa will probably also draft a D.

We will probably end up with the second or third best forward of the 2024 draft.

Can't imagine Anaheim grabs a d, but at the same time if they're 2nd overall they might as that d talent is quite impressive.

let's hope Buffalo can pull out a win here... I don't have much hope after watching them play last night lol

but in all honesty, I think it is possible that both the sens and the sabers could pass us and leave us at 5th... which is still a great spot to draft :)

Stupid Buffalo has another chance at over taking Montreal by one point with a win tonight over LAK. But, Habs will now have a game in hand. Montreal hosts NYI tomorrow night.

I won't be holding my breath for a Buffalo win. I don't want to die of asphyxiation.

Blues beating Canucks would be nice, but pretty unlikely. Canucks are 17-4-1 at home, have an 8-1-1 record last 10 games, and have won 3 consecutive games.

I expect Seattle to beat the AHL team that is Chicago. Kraken should move 4 pts up on Montreal.
