I'm not even upset by these losses anymore. Something changed for me around game 20 or so. Now I am at peace with the fact that this team is essentially the definition of mediocrity and is not making the playoffs. I watch the games to see how guys like Scheifele and Trouba are progressing. If the Jets win a game than I'm happy they won, if they lose I take solace in the fact that it is bettering our draft position (Seeing that we're tied for drafting 6th overall if the season ended today really lifted my mood). The only time I'm pissed is if the Jets get the loser point.

I was at the game tonight. Never have I ever been so embarrassed to be a jets fan! My key notes;

Why is pavs playing back to back?

Why is buff still playing with pardy? Pardy is absolutely terrible and buff needs a reliable baby sitter to cover for his horridous decision making.

Not a single defenseman looked good to tonight.

I'm done writing can't believe I took a holiday for this **** tonight and took my father who is town for Xmas.

So we had a bad game, let the Oilers fans have some fun.....really they don't get a chance to enjoy life so get in the festive spirit !! At the end of the day they will still be Oilers when they wake up tomorrow with k Lowe as the mastermind and Katz as the owner. Legitimate Pity is a much more cruel approach if you want to salvage some pride tonight kids :sarcasm:

I just feel sorry for Yukon Joe, Hero of Canton, Holden and the others who had to endure seeing the B2B Jets :help:

Never forget this. Ever.

I got to see the mother****ing Winnipeg Jets play tonight. That is always a good night. I went too many years without it.

On another note, I was at the mall a couple days ago and saw a Montoya jersey.

I'd like to see Chevy sell early on some of our vets (FAs) and make sure this team is drafting high in the summer. There is a pressing need for another high ceiling forward who can step in almost right away.

Meaningless wins at the end of year do not carry over. There are 9 different teams who selected ahead of Winnipeg in the 2011 & 2012 drafts who have since made the playoffs/are poised to. Colorado & Tampa finished in the bottom 3 last season, were rewarded with potential franchise forwards and are both currently 10+ points up on us in the standings. They've haven't even begun to reap the dividends on Mackinnon & Drouin.

What in the actual **** happened? I left between the 2nd and 3rd periods and come back to this total ****show :amazed:

Fire Noel. Do it now and bring someone else in. There is no reason to waste 40 games with unhappy players and unhappy fans. Bring in a different coach. Give the players a chance to prove themselves. In the offseason, deal the deadweight. Get a decent goalie to take over for Pavelec.

Then next year the majority of the players know the system, and we can come out of the gate without confusion.

Hockey tonight was a blast. There is this guy who was on the other team, he dangled me twice at the beginning, but I put a stop to that pretty quick. I love frustrating twinkletoes forwards. :yo:

Funny, a high ceiling forward wouldn't fix the problem we had yesterday, today, or tomorrow.

Well that wasn't fun.

Not a lot of class shown by the Oilers fans around me going after my dad, who is well into his fifties by 20 something idiots. Thanks for that.

I liked how that idiot goon Gazdic goes after Stuart with Peluso and Thorburn on the ice. Nice job tool.

The refs are to blame COMPLETELY for letting one spiral out of control. Not saying the Jets deserved to win or anything obviously but the crap at the end was 100% on the refs. They were beyond brutal all game, that's what caused the basically line brawl at the end.

Bad game, not fun. I always try to make it enjoyable for away fans by joking with them and talking with them. Nothing of the sort in Edmonton. Just trying to goad me into a fight all game with crap. Real impressed. I never really liked Edmonton and although I enjoyed watching how badly their ownership continually screwed up. Now I am glad that they are stuck with the worst ownership and management team in the world. Keep selecting your Yakupov's and Nurse's, glad to see you fall flat every season you jokes. **** Edmonton.

Also, **** NOEL! Are you kidding me? Second night of a road back to back? Let's not add any fresh guys. Let's ride 3 lines. Oh let's FINALLY give O'Dell a chance with Jokinen-Seto then Frolik-Seto. What he had two really great pressure shifts with 4/5 shots on net by line. Let's bench him the rest of the game. 5v3? Oh let's put dumbdumb Kane out there. Let's put Pardy on the top pairing. ETC ETC. What a complete idiot. Team did not play well. Noel is not only not helping, he is (and has been for 3 years now) PUTTING PLAYERS IN A POSITION TO FAIL. He just does not understand how to get anything from his roster. He needs to go. And Scott mother ****ing Arniel better not be the replacement. That'll make us EDM 2.0 recycling the same failed crap because they are "loyal".

Coach Noel - Assessment of the game. Key moment to the game? Answer to why the path to success was resisted? What is at top of to-do list when they get back from break?

“There is a certain way you have to play to win games. We know that way. We just aren’t willing to play it game in and game out. That is what we have to do.”

Really? Isn't that kind of Claude's responsibility? That should read

"I can't get them to play it game in and game out"

Did the crowd issues happen before or after the refs lost control and the game got out of control?

Yakupov's a punk and he should have had his face re-arranged right after he threw an elbow into Pav's head. The no response to that showed me everything I needed to see for this game.

As for all the Stewart haters, I would rather have a team of take no prisoners, in your face, all heart guys than a team of so so show up now and then, collect my paycheck guys (yes Buff I'm looking at you and others)

I really think playing Pav's last night was a monumental coaching error. It was a risky move that had the potential to blow up just like it did last night and really had very minimal potential upside. I mean it wasn't all on Pav's last night by any means, but he's once again the goalie who can't win b2bs. Why? When you have a backup who has proven he can win games and who the team actually seems to play well in front of, why do you not play him in the one situation when you can play him with no eyebrows being raised in any way???

Maybe the team has that thought running through their heads as they go into the game last night as well...

I stopped watching after the oilers went up by 2 in the 3rd. Checked back in a few minutes later and it was 5-2. Checked back with about a minute to go and its 6-2 and the oilers have a 5 on 3 pp. Wow. What a brutal display. I think Noel has completely lost the room. It's not that the players don't like him or don't want to play for him, its that they don't have confidence that he knows what he's doing and they don't have any fear of him.

Don't ****ing listen to the oilers fans, You guys have all the talent in the world to be a very successful team in this league.

You guys have superstar players like Evander kane, Star young talent like trouba, and scheifele.

Legit talent like Ladd and wheeler.

Role players like Little.

I think the biggest problem for the jets is the coaching. Every time I seem to watch them play they are getting badly out-coached, it seems like they have no system in place, and need to get a real kick in the ass.

I think a coach like ruff, or torts would have been absolutely perfect for the jets, they DEMAND work ethic, no matter if they win or lose.

Of course they are not available, So why not look at Crawford in the off-season?, Or paul Maurice?, Both guys show fire and are successful NHL coaches.

Don't give up jets fans, you guys will be just fine in a few years, keep faith.

thank you...

So 24 wins in a CAREER is a proven winner now? Montoya would have fared no better, the Jets lost the game last night easily on their own, goaltending wasn't the issue.

Well, I gotta say I went into that was expecting to lose, hoping to win. Said it in the pre-game thread. That's just how this Jets team does it.

It's funny, the organization has talked the talk about getting away from the "losing culture from Atlanta", and here we are in it ourselves, with the coaches and players not able or willing to do what it takes to get out of it. So how long do we continue? because if you ask me, the further we go without changes (Noel being fired, going in a new direction) we're just spinning our wheels in our own 'Winnipeg Jets losing culture'. Sometimes the more you spin your wheels, the further you get into it, the harder it is to ever get out.

you miss the point. I'm not saying Monty would have won the game. I'm saying the cost for Monty in losing is less than the cost for Pavs! There was no reason to put Pav's out there. Now he gets to be the guy. And as far as 24 games proving he's a winner, all I know is his numbers are better than Pav's this year. Smaller sample size bla bla bla, but his numbers CERTAINLY don't give any reason to keep him out of obvious start opportunities...

Nothing will change this year... Chevy will stick to "The Plan" (whatever that is), the Jets players will be mediocre, and Noel will continue not being a coach but yet won't be fired during the season.

Bah humbug? Someone cheer me up please on Christmas Eve

Jay Richardson - "I don't think it's a coaching issue because if you listen to coach Noel he says it! He knows what they need to do to win, the team just won't do it for him!" LOL...
