18-4-3 in their last 25.

Tarasenko has been added.

Miller has solidified.

Chytil has emerged.

Kakko is finally producing.

Schneider had taken a step.

Fox, Zibanejad, Trocheck, Shesterkin are all meeting very high expectations.

It’s been a rough year for Laf but he’s showing signs of life.

Bottom line players like Vesey have upped their games.

The Rangers look like the #2 favorite in the east right now behind Boston.

Carolina is significantly better and may add Meier.

Carolina is not considerably better. They need Meier to be equal to the Rangers. and the Rangers have a better goaltender. Rangers are more talented than Boston. Playoffs will tell if that is enought to beat Boston.
The hell are you taking about?
You can definitely argue Carolina is better.

However saying they are significantly better is just a joke of a comment.
Tell the oddsmakers about this. Vegas doesn’t agree with you.

Rangers have been outshot 11-1 at even strength when Tarasenko has been on the ice. 5 periods in. Obviously tiny sample size. But Will need to watch if this trend continues because he has struggled pushing play the last few years.

New player seems to need some time to get settled, that’s some real groundbreaking detective work there chief.

Absolutely. But he has been struggling to push play for two years now. He needs to play with a center who is above average at that.

What stat does this fit into? Single handedly pushing the play and creating the highest danger scoring opportunity you could possibly have?

Where's the stat for that play?

Very easy to find. Here you go:

2 games at even strength. Rangers out shot attempted 21 to 7 when Tarasenko is on the ice at even strength. Tonight was particularly bad. 14-4.

Again, small sample size for NYR. But much larger one dating back a year or two.

Lets see if this continues.

I'd like to know the danger level of those shots. Usually Rangers-Canes games are them throwing everything they can at us while we convert in transition on high percentage chances. Plus, Panarin was moved off his line for half the game.

The Rangers are as big a threat as anyone to come out of the East. Dudes trying to write off the Tarasenko signing after 2 games is laughable. 9 pts in 12 playoff games last year. He's like 4th in G/GM in the playoffs for active players. Stop embarrassing yourselves.

Looks like it was 1-3 in favor of the Canes for high danger chances while he was on the ice.

He’s still a good player. Don’t mind him at all. And obviously im bringing up a small sample size. But my point is, he has been in a downward trend analytically and it will be very interesting to see if this trend continues on a much better team than the Blues.

East is a beast. The first place team in the west would be fighting for a wild card in the East lmao. Stars are currently 7th in the league standings. Wild.

This is a cringy little thread but some of the hot takes from other teams' fans are still funny. I especially like the PO noob Devils fans boasting how they're going to wipe out the Rangers and Canes fans hoping that the Devils do the job even though Carolina is sooo much better than the Rangers.

All of that may happen because the POs are wild every year. But the reality is that the Rangers are a monstrous draw. You have to be f***ing thick as shit to want to play NY in the first round.

They are vibing.

Remains to be seen what they can do when the actual games begin and they have to beat teams like BOS, CAR etc.

Maybe 2nd round exit this year 🤔

I think they are 2nd best playoffs team in the East after Boston. I never bet, but if the odds are favorable I might put a few bucks on them.

Top of the league goaltending, excellent D and balanced attack. They can play physical as well. They'll surprise many teams. If the Islanders can make it (which is far from sure), they could be a dark horse as well just on the back of Sorokin.

Of the East top teams, New Jersey is too soft right now, they'll get eaten alive, unless they make a big splash...
