In a lot of ways, being here and following the Flyers is a form of imprisonment.
I definitely need a "Clockwork Orange and Black" cut of that scene where Malcolm McDowell's being forced to watch horror and depravity without respite, only intercut with The Best of Twit Fisto, Nate the Late and the Grompsoneers, and Kaptain Cevin's Passing Clinic.

Sort of thought that this selection would have been finalized by now. After all its been on the table since December. To clown around now like the PTB don't know who they want is ridiculous. If Montgomery was going to be the guy, then waiting until the season was over for the Blues makes sense. Well that's finished. Perhaps Q is their guy and they need to clear him with the League office. Aside from that why hasn't the decision been finalized?
I'd like to think that perhaps there is a scrum going on between the Dinos and some who want to play 21st century hockey. The problem with that is that it's all Dinos in the FO.

What's the need to rush, other than we're Flyers fans in an era of 24/7 news cycles, constant social media updates, and extremely short attention spans, and are craving our next short dopamine hit of Flyers activity?

I'd rather them be thorough. They were at least going to wait until interviewing Montgomery.

According to Carchidi's article, Montgomery is wrapping up end-of-season stuff with the Blues. I'm sure he'll interview soon. Then maybe (my speculation) they'll have second interviews with a few candidates.

Maybe they want to interview Lalonde from Tampa? Who knows?

yeah, they want to get the right guy and stick with him and not fire him in two years, i wouldnt be surprised if it's from one of the playoff teams because alot of teams that have long term success arent from retreads.

Had to be Hitch, who came in after the Stars missed the playoffs while giving up 262 goals.

Totally forgot he did a one year stop there. You're probably right, but at the same time, here are the numbers in 17-18 with Hitch and 18-19 with Montgomery:

Hitchcock: 17th in xGF/60, 24th in GF/60; 4th in xGA/60, 3rd in GA/60
Montgomery: 18th xGF/60, 30th in GF/60; 9th in xGA/60, 3rd in GA/60

Somehow, they were even worse offensively under Montgomery.

This is so exhausting. So who IS a good available coach?

Seems like they are waiting on Trotz like everyone, but also Ellis. These idiots really think Ellis alone is some magical ingredient just like Niskanen. He will also be Chuck's excuse when they fail next year: "If Ellis wasn't injured all the pieces would have fallen into place"

If Ellis looks likely to be back to form they are going to try and make the playoffs with their patented "just get in and yah never know" bs. I hope he is hurt and they go with a coach that is better with youth, don't trade away assets to clear cap space and have a shot a Bedard.
