I like most of her stuff. I saw her in concert years ago (1983) in Worcester. She wasn't very good. I think it was when she was doing too much coke. Joe Walsh opened for here and he was great.

Now, I'm a Nixon fan -- there are actually sensible reasons for this -- but every time I hear "Rocky Mountain Way (1974), I believe Joe is talking, in part, about RN,

Well, he's tellin' us this
And he's tellin' us that
Changes it ev'ry day
Says it doesn't matter
Bases are loaded
And Casey's at bat
Playin' it play-by-play
Time to change the batter

My son is a pretty darn good musician. He's attempting this song. This gal is unbelievable. What a performance. The entire thing is amazing. 7 minute mark is cool however so many cool moments. LOL
Have him listen to Booker, he was a pretty good teacher too.

Booker on keys and Marc Bolan on guitar with Ringo

Holy crap!

I was in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame last week and watched this incredible Prince performance in a small theater on the big screen. Sat in the front row and was blown away, even though I had seen it years ago.

Thanks for posting it!
I have never been there...yet.

The concert for George had some good stuff.

I liked that they had George Harrison's son Dhani playing along in memory of his father. He looks like George.

ELO's backstory is fascinating, I was listening to a podcast episode about it a few months back. They effectively came together out of the ashes of The Move, who were a 1960s British mod group who were one of those bands who were beloved by all the other musicians but didn't have chart success in America. Their success in the UK was also hampered by a manager who screwed them over left and right, most notably by putting a libelous caricature of the Prime Minister on the cover of what ultimately would be their best selling single which prompted the PM to sue them leading the group to lose all royalties for that song in perpetuity. By the early 70s the group went through lineup changes and Jeff Lynne came in as a guitarist, and they slowly converted themselves over into ELO.

They actually recorded Do Ya as The Move in 1972 before ELO re-recorded it in 1977 and made it a hit single.

When the BBC1 went on air in 1967, they could have led with The Beatles, Stones, Cream or The Who but chose this as the introductory tune.

Flowers in the Rain

The first complete record played on Radio 1 was "Flowers in the Rain" by The Move, the number 2 record in that week's Top 20 (the number 1 record, by Engelbert Humperdink, would have been inappropriate for the station's sound).

They never saw a dime in royalties.
