I wouldn't consider the regional guys on this list like sawyer for tsn Jets. I mean it's the Jets regional guys

I'd say the biggest Homers are the national guys because basically they are the regional guy in that area but on the national broadcast

Gary Galley Jake Debrusk Greg Millen.
These are all guys blatantly cheering for 1 team

Every local broadcast duo for every US team is embarrassingly biased and terrible at calling a hockey game.
This is not true at all. Sam Rosen was great during his prime years. So was Howie Rose for the Rangers on the radio in the past and more recently for the Islanders on TV and radio. Also Doc Emrick was always fantastic as the Devils announcer.

There's a lot of 'was' in there

Garbage tsn gives the habs a different colour commentator every game , so they are probably the least bias. Johnson, Button, Poulin , who ever they can find hanging around the Toronto sports network studio.

Bob Errey on the Penguins broadcast is pretty damn bad.

It's especially cringey how he mentions that he played with Mario at every little chance he gets lol.

Not a colour commentator but the Flames radio PBP guy cried on air when the Avs eliminated them a few years back. He CRIED. Real tears. Said “sorry I’m crying here, but this team deserved more.” He cried!:laugh::laugh:

Most embarrassing, unprofessional, homer shit I’ve ever heard in my life.

That's pretty impressive you've recently managed to listen to all 26 local broadcasts in the US to make this assessment.

Not that hard to do if you have Center Ice or ESPN+ (formerly nhl.tv). I know people who listen to the local announcers when their team plays on the road just to change things up. Even if they only watch their team play, they'd hear every team's broadcasters at least once every year. For those who watch more hockey it's pretty easy to tune into a bunch of random games and hear every broadcast. You could flip around in a single night and hit like 10+ and get a reasonable amount of time hearing them.

Was listening to penguins broadcast last night and the guys kept having the most ridiculous takes all night. It actually made me mad when they started talking about how the pens need to accidentally on purpose run the goalie because he's keeping the Sabres in the game. Then a few minutes later, they run the goalie and the broadcasters get all excited. Just horrible, horrible takes all night.

Start the video at 1:01:10 to hear him talking about running Tokarski, im all about playing tough hockey, but kids shouldn't be listening to if you're down and the goalies keeping them alive, just run the goalie when he comes out of the blue paint. Dudes a joke

I may be in the minority here but I want me home town announcing team to be homers. I mean if I'm watching a nation broadcast then fine they should be neutral, but as a Canes fan I want Tripp Tracy and Mike Manascalco to be unabashed Canes homers. I mean they broadcast for Canes fans in the Canes viewing area, why should they be neutral?

Daneyko has a gruff voice, but he is definitely not one of the most biased. He constantly praises the other team and can be very critical of the Devils. Sometimes, he cheers when the Devils score a big goal but you have to realize he has literally been with the organization for 40 years

I don't mind Daneyko. Butch Goring on the other hand...

Bob Errey.
Errey is clearly biased in favor of the Pens, but he is biased in that he's openly rooting for them and a fan. He calls it from the perspective of a Pens fan. Not like a lot of the announcers in this thread who are may as well be spin doctors for the team. I actually watched some of the Pens feed during the game against the Panthers, and I was pleasantly surprised that they actually called the game as they saw it. Not just flat out ignoring missed calls that went their way or flipping out over missed calls that didn't go their way.

The devils commentator is absolutely brutal. I had to mute it
I can't even remember if Daneyko is one of the spin doctors or just biased. What I do know is that he's an idiot. His opinions are just flat out wrong out of the booth, and he struggles to make coherent points while doing in-game commentary. Most of the times when talks, he's just narrating a replay or repeating something that just happened instead of providing actual insight.

The Panthers are right up there with the most biased teams in the league, but at least Goldie is a talented play-by-play caller, and Moller is charismatic/insightful. Moller has been out recently, and Jeff Chrychun and Ed Jovonavski have subbed in. Chychrun isn't very good at the job, and he's incredibly biased, but he actually provides really good hockey insight.

JoVo was the single worst booth guy I've ever seen. It was embarrassing to listen to hear him just flat out lie about what we were seeing with our own eyes.

I don’t have a problem with Daneyko as a Rangers fan. I hate Cangelosi though. Nails on a chalkboard with that voice. Scaaaaahh! Like someone pinched his nuts

I know I say this every time Edwards is brought up in a thread like this, but if people would actually just sit down and watch a couple games of his, they'd see that he has his biased moments but for the most part he is more impartial than most commentators out there.

Craig Simpson.
He has his entire head shoved up the Leafs ass so far each shoulder is touching the ass cheeks.
During broadcasts ... the other team does not exist. Rarely mentioned.

When the Habs beat the leafs last year in the playoffs I honestly thought he was going to have a total mental breakdown.

Clear example of we hear what we want to hear. I never once thought a guy who refused to play for the Leafs at one point to be a Leafs homer. Really? You think he is a Leafs homer? I don't believe it.

The Sharks color guy was crying about a clean Dumba hit last night. He thought he should have had to 'answer the bell' against waiver pick up Gadjovic. Had to mute it and eventually gave up & tuned in to see if McDraisaitl could come back against the Jets.

Seems like Detroit's commentators.. both tv and radio do nothing but praise opposing teams. They'll call certain things out but nothing that isn't already calling itself out.
