I expect Espo to be biased because he basically started the team.
I don't know if its because the Vancouver fans boo'ed team Canada during their loss in 72 in Vancouver but I get a feeling Esposito took it real personal and shits on all of the Canadian teams as much as possible. He even went as far as saying he doesn't identify as a Canadian anymore but as a naturalized American. Something about his bias seems really unprofessional.

I just imagine I'm listening to Jesse The Body Ventura when I listen to Daneyko hoping to hear Gorilla Monsoon on the other mic.

I'd rather the color guy be biased than the play-by-play guy that the Avs always tend to hire. McNab is actually pretty neutral most of the time.
If McNab is the name of the Devils guy then he is absolutely not neutral. He’s one of the biggest homers out there, he’s screaming every time one of the Devils players scores.

The Avs guy is also one of the more biased ones for sure

Kelly Hrudey whines non stop about all the calls the Flames should have gotten.
Interesting. I've only heard one of his (local?) broadcasts and had a positive impression.

He was one of the few announcers to give real credit to the visiting team based on what they see in the game.

Most announcers will have a few token remarks prepared based on opposing players' reputations. I felt like Hrudey was actually watching *both* teams and commenting on the real play, even if he slightly favored one.

As a visiting fan, I appreciated it.

I don’t mind homers as long as they’re honest. You can support your team without pissing on the opponent.
I have to agree, I like when Bob Stauffer colors for the Oilers. He is a clear homer but even on his podcast he isn't afraid to be a realist about other teams skill levels.

The devils commentator is absolutely brutal. I had to mute it
Daneyko has a gruff voice, but he is definitely not one of the most biased. He constantly praises the other team and can be very critical of the Devils. Sometimes, he cheers when the Devils score a big goal but you have to realize he has literally been with the organization for 40 years

Peter McNab is the Avs' color commentator. He's also likely the least-biased guy in the booth you'll find in the league.
Perhaps you're confusing him with Marc Moser, their PBP guy? He's pretty biased.

As someone already noted he is not the Devils color commentator but the interesting thing about this is that he was in fact the color commentator for the Devils before the Avs came into existence in 1996.

Jack Edwards is play by play. Not color/analyst. Bob Errey is the most biased color commentator.....btw. Jack Edwards' color guy is Andy Brickley

Every local broadcast duo for every US team is embarrassingly biased and terrible at calling a hockey game.

Jack Edwards is not a color commentator

Which makes it all the more embarrassing and ridiculous that he's employed by NESN without being told to cut that crap out. Very knowledgeable and a talented broadcaster but so ridiculously over the top homer that he's impossible to listen to. And he controls the broadcast since he's play-by-play. If he was color then ok whatever, there are plenty of homer color guys. Tripp Tracy for the Canes included, although he's just more of a goofball than over the top homer.

That's pretty impressive you've recently managed to listen to all 26 local broadcasts in the US to make this assessment.
