Here's the meal I had tonight from Hearthside in Collingswood, one of my favorite places on this side of the Delaware:

Thai curry mussels, charred broccoli salad, roasted hamachi collar, venison tortellini, flat iron steak, and scallops. Everything was phenomenal. And yes, I did wear a top hat and monocle while I ate it all.

You'll love this part: we didn't find out til yesterday that we had a babysitter and could get out tonight. So because this place will literally be booked solid with reservations for months in advance, I refreshed their reservation page every 30 minutes or so all morning hoping someone would cancel. Sure enough, right around lunchtime a 730 reservation popped up. Suck it, the man. Thanks for permitting me to spend my money at your establishment.

Okay, here's the thing... I'm very familiar with Collingswood and thought I knew it inside and out... even restaurants we haven't dined at... you know, by viewing in many strolls down the main drag.

I couldn't recall Hearthside... I Googled it... no help in recalling Hearthside... Google Earthed it... still nada... went to their Website to see where I screwed up... found picture of it which I tied into Google Earth... zoomed in... on-street side and around corner... still no help locating Restaurant Signage.

WTF!?!?!... They don't have any... if you need to ask, they don't want you... a virtual speakeasy type set up; Knock knock... "the sun has risen"... "okay, come in".

I see what you mean about no room in the inn.

It's on the newer side for Collingswood, opened a couple years ago. They're in a fully reconstructed building across from the library on Frazer Ave. They do have a sign but it's really tiny. It's their name on a pair of bellows hanging on the front of the building. I honestly noticed it for the first time last night since we sat near the windows. Give it a shot if you ever have the chance!

Oh man!!! I decided to go to the grocery store to see if there was a deal on lobster/canners since it was the day after Mother's Day. Around here on those "holidays", lobster is usually cheaper.

They had canners at a regular price $9.99 each. Sale price $4.99 each. But due to having so many pre-cooked, an extra 50% off! So 4 canners in a bag for $10 a bag. I may have bought 3 bags....

So tonight, we have over 11 lbs of lobster to feed on!
