I don’t think the NHL is a development league for head coaches. That’s what being an assistant or the AHL is for.You don't beleive he could improve in the next 2 years?
Do you think he have a good nhl roster to work with?

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

This team is being outshot and destroyed most games. They had one lucky 10 game streak. MIN destroys them without Brodin Kaprizov as an example. Hard to argue losing Heineman and Guhle has a bigger impact than Brodin Kaprizov. The team has improved every year. And we were improving by leaps and bounds before injuries started up.
We knew the team would be inconsistent and that’s what they’ve been.
Yes.
There’s nothing lucky about beating the best teams in the league for a sustained period of time. This team is being outshot and destroyed most games. They had one lucky 10 game streak.
The Canadiens have zero depth. We knew this going in. The moment we ran into injuries we sunk. The roster is still a work in progress. The coach is not a problem.MIN destroys them without Brodin Kaprizov as an example. Hard to argue losing Heineman and Guhle has a bigger impact than Brodin Kaprizov.

Don’t go there, I’m not having it. That’s bullshit.

A) Both can be a problem and B) yes for sure MSL is a Hall of Famer so he is of course the best coach in the league… (Gretzky says hi!)The roster is still a work in progress. The coach is not a problem.
What’s realistic is that we’re an inconsistent rebuilding club. I said we’d be consistently inconsistent and that’s exactly what we’ve been.82 games is a Long season, even TBL and FLA will have Bad Streaks, habs were just good enough to take advantage of it. What a more realistic, that 12 games is a fluke or 70 games is a fluke .
CH Habs rely on every player. They don't have depth as other teams to compare. Habs have 6 borderline legit nhl players on his roster if not more. They graduated from ahl a year ago, one was wrapping bags in a Cosco 3 years ago and the immoveable vets (denver clugs) overpaid underperforming. So if by miracle a new player like Heineman does good and gets injured, that's your good 4th line you have to forget. Heineman and Ghule were two good player in a team that doesn't have that many. Ghule was our #1 D ahead of Matheson and Hutson. Or equal with Hutson and Carrier. Ghule was one of the top 4 Ds.This team is being outshot and destroyed most games. Have you looked at MIN roster ? Tell me about lacking depth and Talent. Gaudreau is currently their second line Center.CH Habs rely on every player. They don't have depth as other teams to compare. They are a veteran team. We are the 2nd youngest team in the league and we’re actually going to get younger.Have you looked at MIN roster ? Tell me about lacking depth and Talent. Gaudreau is currently their second line Center.
Dvorak Armia Evans Anderson Gallagher are all veterans if you are going that direction. Not sure many people would say Gaudreau Hinistroza Trenin … are better than them. They are a veteran team. We are the 2nd youngest team in the league and we’re actually going to get younger.
2nd youngest team in the league. Our worst players are the oldest.Dvorak Armia Evans Anderson Gallagher are all veterans if you are going that direction.
Do you think this is the best Slaf will ever be? Do you think this is the best we’ve seen from Hutson or Guhle? Not sure many people would say Gaudreau Hinistroza Trenin … are better than them.
This youth argument does not work when 5 of your top 6 players are in their D+6 or older.
The team is still very much developing.............as is the coach, but there are times, you have to really look at Marty's decisions, and questioning them, is fair game.2nd youngest team in the league. Our worst players are the oldest.
Does this really need to be explained? What do you think MSL should be getting out of Dvorak? How much do you think he’ll garner at the deadline?

They are still very young. Still developing… you are comparing apples to oranges.
It's not the time yet to push for more small victories here and there, it's tank time and losing is perfect in the situation now with the very next draft. If we're not going for PO spot, why not losing solide man and collect better picks?I don’t think the NHL is a development league for head coaches. That’s what being an assistant or the AHL is for.
The organization felt the tanking was done............and a few of the young vets did too. It's not the time yet to push for more small victories here and there, it's tank time and losing is perfect in the situation now with the very next draft. Not really if you look at the schedule we have 3 games at the end of this month and 3 games before TDL in March. The organization felt the tanking was done............and a few of the young vets did too.
Not so sure they will pull the plug.
The results recently indicate they maybe should, but they have 6 games before the deadline, what if they rebound and win 4-5 games?
It's a slippery slope for the guys...
By all means question the coach. Criticize his moves. The team is still very much developing.............as is the coach, but there are times, you have to really look at Marty's decisions, and questioning them, is fair game.
I like him as our coach, but I don't like his favour-tism for some, his standards are not the same for all......frustrating at times.
Internally next season, he will be gifted, Demidov, Reinbacker, and Beck and maybe an UFA and we lose Dvo, Evans, and Saavvy, and maybe Armia.
The coaching can be improve in the next 2 years. Have to find a strategy/system genious that will help MSL in the background. An assistant not behind the bench but with the earphone.. Marty will improvce by himself, most important is he developp each new young player one by one. He's that kind of coach. If in 2 years direction thinks he doesn't have it or he lose his room, they can hire someone else. 2 more years to be patient. MSL is good to face the medias, victory or defeat, he doesn't seem intimidated. The organization felt the tanking was done............and a few of the young vets did too.

I just think a lot of posters’ knee jerk reaction whenever we lose a few games is to blame the coach.
Every coach can be criticized. Every coach gets things wrong. But there’s a difference between constructive criticism and an auto-fire mentality every time we go on a losing streak.
This is not true for this season. They have stagnated. The pt% has gone up year on year on year. I don't think any coach can do much when his d-corps is what this is and his 2nd line is three out of form bozos, etc.
I didn't like what he did with Jackeye. I'm tired of this shit. Bring in Hartley. Someone like Jack need some love. If anything, he need MORE responsibiility. Give him some PK time.
