Draisaitl has had 7 seasons(lockout shortened season prorated) in a row with 40 goals and 100 point seasons.
Let that sink in folks.

20+ more goals than Mack and Kuch
Mackinnon is 2 points up , but ya I agree .No clue how the odd makers have MacKinnon as the favorite. Draisaitl is only one point behind him, has almost 50 goals, 33 even strength, is the only one doing anything for his team right now and he just scored the only 2 goals tonight including the OT winner. I would even argue he deserves a nomination for a Selke. Not saying he should win but deserves to be on the list. He's been a beast in his 200 foot game.
It's not just goals...he is better 5v5 all around, Face-offs, +/-, last time I checked he was around the top of the league in all advanced metrics...GWG he has now double digits....and then look how the ratio of giveaways and takeaways for both is, that's a huge difference...he has also much more defensive zone starts than all the other point leaders...he is just doing it all this season...I could go on and on, just an amazing season.Mackinnon is 2 points up , but ya I agree .
Mack will probably need to win the Ross by 10 pts if he wants to win the Hart. The difference in goals is too big.
Agreed which is why I think if he is even within 10 points of the art Ross he will win the Hart. He isn't the lock yet but he's the clear cut favouriteIt's not just goals...he is better 5v5 all around, Face-offs, +/-, last time I checked he was around the top of the league in all advanced metrics...GWG he has now double digits....and then look how the ratio of giveaways and takeaways for both is, that's a huge difference...he has also much more defensive zone starts than all the other point leaders...he is just doing it all this season...I could go on and on, just an amazing season.
If you only look at his all around game this year this is one of the best seasons of the last 20 years (since I follow hockey closely)
Totally agree on that, I was almost shocked when I looked it up today and saw that many got MacK as favorite for the Hart. For example ESPN here or more drastically NHL.com here.No clue how the odd makers have MacKinnon as the favorite. ...
Unfortunately not, NHL had him on 2nd this week...I don't know why to be honest...I was always a Drai supporter but this year he is the player everybody dreams of and this on both ends of the ice...he is the main reason they are in a playoff spot.Agreed which is why I think if he is even within 10 points of the art Ross he will win the Hart. He deserves the love more than in any other season.
I feel sorry for Helle, but he is the only one who should be in the conversation.
MacK is awesome, but he is often only the second best on his team (Makar) and spends almost every minute with Makar and has additional an awesome linemate (Rantanen/Necas).
Drai plays with Podkolzin,Brown,Perry,Arvidsson...just look their production up....they are all offensive black holes this season (Perry is solid for his age).
and when with McD he is in 90% the better player this year.
Before the MacK homers are throwing stones, he is awesome and has a great season but not as good as Draisaitls so far. (And I don't go into all this empty net stuff, if it were vice versa they would scream murder as they had in the past with PP points.)
If not for MacKinnon's million empty net points, Draisaitl would be the only 100 point player right now and likely quite a few points up on him.Totally agree on that, I was almost shocked when I looked it up today and saw that many got MacK as favorite for the Hart. For example ESPN here or more drastically NHL.com here.
In particular the one on NHL.com is quite ridiculous, as they are acting like MacK would lead the league by 30 points or something. Those guys voted MacK on top with 71 pts, vs Drai with 47 and Helly with 38.
Stunningly clear voting for MacK, they gotta be drunk...
That's no disrespect to MacK, I highly respect what he's doing for his injury plagued team. But personally I'm putting Helly in front of MacK, and Draisaitl is my favorite, at least clearly over MacKinnon.
Only 2 points less than MacK (with one game in hand), 22 (!) goals more than MacK (13 more than anyone else), GWGs, constantly top ten in +/- (despite Oilers struggling for long stretches), on pace for 60-60, will make his fourth 50-50 (lone leading active players), impressive underlying stats, Selke mentions, and so on and forth... (BertMcDrai already mentioned a lot)
It's Drai, maybe Helly, but not MacK.
Yeah that's true, for me most nights it's 3 am as I am from Europe...awful timezone to watch NHL...but I am taking the time and try to watch also different games and teams...but it seems nobody stays up to watch the Oilers (this year I can understand nobody stays up for this shit show, outside of Drai)You’re up late
ah, makes sense. Have a good one, my friend!Yeah that's true, for me most nights it's 3 am as I am from Europe...awful timezone to watch NHL...but I am taking the time and try to watch also different games and teams...but it seems nobody stays up to watch the Oilers (this year I can understand nobody stays up for this shit show, outside of Drai)

Or McDavid's "No Draisaitl point share leaders".Now do "No McDavid point share leaders".
They have done that for years, as proven by their extremely impressive playoff-performances that saw them become 3rd and 4th quickest alltime to 100 playoff points. The only thing that stopped them, were opponents trying (and succeeding) to injure them during the playoffs, and that is nothing that you could prevent in the regular season. At some point both players needs to do what they have to get ready for the playoffs. Both of them should be quite happy to give up regular season awards in return for a deep playoff run.
