It was all right. I was honestly enjoying the episode for what it was until that last scene with Bo Katan which just felt like a flat ending. The stand off in the square and the space battle were fun. The bit with Greef Karga translating plain English wasn't funny the first time and it more than overstayed its welcome.

I don't think Mando is ever going to be prestige television like Andor but I'll take this episode over any Book of Boba Fett bullshit aside from the Mando-centric episodes.

Also just a kind of unimportant complaint, I never did a terribly deep dive on the old EU as far as actually reading the novels but I did have some understanding of Mandalore through wiki passages, Clone Wars, and the KOTOR/SWTOR games. There's just something...unimpressive about the other Mandalorian warriors. Part of it is that everyone in Mandalorian armor aside from Din, Boba, Jango, and Bo Katan+her crew all look kind of...cheap? Like they didn't put much budget into the unnamed Mandos. Then the other end is they just don't seem all that formidable in combat.

I don't know, I always viewed Mandalorian like, what if the Spartans from 300 were space warriors with their own planet? The Mandalorian race was one of the cooler established factions in the galaxy far far away and this show is basically the best vehicle to show that off, but outside of Din, who wasn't even born Mandalorian and Bo Katan, none of them really give off that vibe. It's still Din's story so it's not some tragedy but 2 seasons+1 episode in and that's a bit disappointing.

I mostly agree here. They looked like if they were holding a mandalorian fan convention with all the different colors. I get that it's a new age and they're not gonna look like they did in KOTOR (easily the best looking imo) but they kinda look cheap/fake. I think they looked a lot better in season 1 when the heavy sentry mando and the other saved Mando's ass. The space fights look fantastic. They just need to do the regular mando costumes a bit better.

Still love this show. Makes me smile. Pure fun. Gonna power through the dorks and their criticisms. If you can't tell that this show is meant to appeal to all, then common sense and reality must be daily struggles.
Just enjoy the show and don't let other opinions bother you. Attacking people for not liking what you do just makes you look bad. Welcome to the board.

If you love the show, just enjoy it. You only make yourself look bad by attacking people for not liking everything that you do.
You may think I look bad, but I don't feel bad. I wouldn't call what I'm doing attacking per se, more like criticism of those whom being critical is in their nature.

It's in all of our nature to be critical. You went on an expletive-filled tirade against Panthers management last night and called people here dorks who struggle with common sense and reality. We all just choose different things to care about and criticize.

Sorry to even ask but why would anyone bring politics up and continue to the point where there needs to be a warning for The Mandalorian?

1st episode was a pretty good episode. can't wait for more. is this season going to be 8 episodes as well or they giving us more this time?

If you want to soapbox me, cool, I really don't care. You're not providing me with an awakening. If you want to call me a non expletive name for my on-point Panthers tirade, have at it. Criticism cuts both ways.

Part of the issue is the ambience.

Typically they are standing around the forge and there's dim lighting and a misty fog to add that additional Mandalorian style.

In this case, they are standing out in the light of day with very washed out colours so there was a bit of a throw-back to the multi-colored Vespa scooter riders in Book of Boba Fett.

Just a badly executed scene. Oh well.

This episode felt like Mando had ADHD. He went back to his old gang to be told something he had already been told before with no new information gained and he started 2-3 things without finishing one of them. It was a bit all over the place.

Personally, I think that we can do away with the warning and reference in the thread title. It's been over two years now.

It felt like the whole episode was to catch up the viewer. It was like when you return to an RPG that you never finished and re-visit locations and NPCs and listen to conversations over again to remind yourself of what you're supposed to be doing.

Did you notice that the Star Wars intro at the beginning was missing Kylo Ren's helmet, BB-8 and the First Order Stormtrooper helmet? All of the ST characters were removed and now it's only characters from the OT and Favreau's shows.

Everytime I see John Wayne's grandsons name as part of closing credits cast list. I am curious how much was the real Mando and how much was him.
