Both have been injured often so this isn’t really surprising. Don’t expect them to be healthy much throughout their careers.
Agreed---For some reason certain players are more prone to injury than others. Even coaches and trainers admit that they don't understand why. It's the same in football. It might be attributable to "playing style" but that's hard to quantify.

I'm sure that the injury history of Holloway and Broberg came into play when the Oilers pondered the right to match.

Glad he's okay, that can be really scary. But almost eerily ironic that neither of them can escape their injury legacy from their time with us, fluke or otherwise. Neither of them made it to December without something happening to them. Cursed, unlucky or injury prone, or a combo, who knows.

Watching the video, it's terrifying, because he finishes a shift after getting hit, then he's laid out on the bench. Crazy, I'm glad he's ok.

There seem to be some players that can't seem to avoid IR no matter what, and it isn't even like they re-aggravate the same injury.

These two definitely fit into that camp unfortunately.

Klefbom was our poster boy for that. The guy picks up a virus while in the hospital recovering from an injury surgery. Tough to beat that one.

Not that I’m cheering against him but after a hot start Holloway’s offense has fallen off a cliff. Last 12 games 0 goals 3 assists.

Hockey gods were just trolling us with these 2. A nice coupling with another weird start to the year where it seemed impossible to score and every good chance ending up in our net.

Still don't think either of these guys are that great. Never liked the hockey IQ of either.

Holloway is what he is. A third liner, Warren Foegele type. Good skater His lack of finish will prevent him from being a top 6 guy.

Valuable to have on your team - but replaceable.

His underlying numbers aren't overly great this year. 3 PP points (something he wasn't getting in Edmonton), 1 EN point. That's half his production.

It pains me we couldn't get Seth Jarvis to drop one more spot. And maybe Stauffer was right about selecting Guhle instead of Holloway.

as for Broberg, obviously has upside. However his production this year has been a function of a high PDO (underlying numbers are much worse).

The right call was probably made not to match the offer-sheets.

The mistake was made in not to extend these players when had an opportunity. They could have been used for trade pieces higher than that they got.

Core 4 Rankings has St. Louis leading with Philip Broberg. Oil management caught napping this summer and have their top NHL ready young D flipped into an emergent top 4 player still young enough to make the list among the league top kids.

A kid I played with a bit died back in like 2012 due to a puck to the throat. I think he played for SSAC.

You don't f*** around in that area though, it probably started to swell and started blocking his airway. Let's hope its just precautionary.

Yes it was SSAC.

His ice time has been getting reduced lately. He was constantly in the top 6 of forward ice time now it seems to be near the bottom.
