Shut up, Bill. As if non-shit players didn’t work just as hard.

This concept of bad players being harder workers than good ones is one of the dumbest things these idiots try to peddle.

The fact that they have to put in this much effort to keep up doesn't seem positive to me. Also seems unsustainable and not worth investing term in. The Flyers of course take opposite path and are convinced that players who have to grind to the bone just to compete are better than the ones who do it naturally.

And then they're annually confused about their inability to keep pace with the league.

Maximum effort + constant bad results = not going to suddenly become good

The Flyers, and I mean this very literally, are the ONLY team in pro sports who try to galvanize their fambase around guys like Gaucher. Typically, fans themselves write this script in that they find out the story and pull for the underdog when they finally get the call

No other team tries to literally hype these players en route to the pros. It's crazy. Like sure the Chris Coste's of the world deserve their applause, but it's only after they get called up and people realize what the deal is.

It's so f***ing weird dude
It really is all about the narrative. I suspect they want to make their big move in FA because that generates the most hoopla. Drafting is so 1-2 years later!

On the bright side, the Flyers would currently pick 7th (by points %), and 4th is within reach. Don't think a top 3 pick is possible at this point.

Mock draft currently has Flyers taking Roger McQueen at 7th (F), Braeden Cootes at 22nd (C), and Milton Gästrin at 30th (C/LW).

Reminder their last 8 or 9 games are against terrible opponents, so my hopes aren't that high

True. However by that time the players may well have had enough of Tortorella's act and have tuned him out. Time for them to play out the string, stay healthy, go home for the summer and get away from all of the nonsense that is the Flyers.

The way this team works, though, that's probably anywhere between 8 and 12 points even if they are tuning him out, because we'll win a few by accident, and most of the losses will be OT.

Johnston would be an actually intriguing offer sheet candidate but you’d have to think Dallas would do what’s needed to match.

Wasn't Johnston (a 20-something overall selection) picked in the draft the Flyers, who originally held a mid-first round pick, basically punted because they didn't think it was worth it?

Rest of the month's schedule

4th - at UHC
6th - Was
8th - Pit

22nd - Edm
25th - Pit
27th - at Pit

The only bad team in their last six is Buffalo. The other five (Mon, NYR, NYI, Ott, CBJ) should be battling for playoff spots.
