Shut up, Bill. As if non-shit players didn’t work just as hard.

This concept of bad players being harder workers than good ones is one of the dumbest things these idiots try to peddle.

The fact that they have to put in this much effort to keep up doesn't seem positive to me. Also seems unsustainable and not worth investing term in. The Flyers of course take opposite path and are convinced that players who have to grind to the bone just to compete are better than the ones who do it naturally.

And then they're annually confused about their inability to keep pace with the league.

Maximum effort + constant bad results = not going to suddenly become good

The Flyers, and I mean this very literally, are the ONLY team in pro sports who try to galvanize their fambase around guys like Gaucher. Typically, fans themselves write this script in that they find out the story and pull for the underdog when they finally get the call

No other team tries to literally hype these players en route to the pros. It's crazy. Like sure the Chris Coste's of the world deserve their applause, but it's only after they get called up and people realize what the deal is.

It's so f***ing weird dude
It really is all about the narrative. I suspect they want to make their big move in FA because that generates the most hoopla. Drafting is so 1-2 years later!
