ultimately responsible for 115 architects - what percentage do you think are happy, esp given tough economic conditions? :)
Makes sense. I maxed out at 2 percent a couple years ago. Sucked cuz my first year when my review was understandably full of criticism and hope, the max i believe was 8 percent

Dems da breaks

an 8% raise?

unheard of here, unless performance-based. typically we see inflation-based raises. tho, WEIRDLY, as inflation has raised, those inflation-based raises have not :) lol

I hope they come!!!

We always get so many kids. In fact, we've seen many cars pull up, take photos, get candy and drive away

I made sure we are stocked up again this year.

I love seeing all the costumes!
We love seeing the kids as well. In fact I just texted that very statement to my mom, who noted that we have a nice neighborhood. We also buy full-size bars for the older kids, and we've noticed the past couple of years they say as they're nearing the porch "This is a full-size house!" So we have a reputation to protect! I wish we had the time (and energy) to do more decorating for Halloween, as it's one of my favorite holidays. @Kovi did almost all of the decorating this year, although I did put great big googly eyes on some of our cactus.

My first “real” job out of college was giving out up to 10 percent, but ten percent of garbage is still garbage.

I try not to focus too much on the money these days. It’s enough for me regardless, and I find that money is a short term motivator

year end performance review time can kiss my ass

You must be on the wrong end of it i take it? It’s a nice day for me. A couple extra bucks, a few compliments, and I’m on my way.
One of the best parts of being a consultant is that I haven't had to sit through a performance review in almost 9 years. I'm also making the same rate as my rate from 8 years ago, but like TDCharlie said, it's enough. For right now anyway.

Wondering how many I should buy for the 0.0 trick-or-treaters we’ve had in 20+ years? Can anyone help with the math?

I wish, we have to get about 500 pieces each year (and will still run out). There's an elementary school in the subdivision and they do a thing for the kids each Halloween, which means all the kids go through the neighborhood too

Our first year in Arizona we had over 200 kids come by. there was a dad that said...if you give out full size, word is going to spread. It definitely did. haha

I'll tell you that my favorite part of Halloween is seeing the older kids be cautious of the younger ones and let them go first. I complement them every time. Our street seems to have good-natured older kids.

I'm too fatigued this year to dress up and did my best for decorating.
Here's some past fun.

I loved Halloween - when we moved to Canada, I was 9 years old and had never heard of trick or treating. Imagine the delight when I found out we could actually go door to door for chocolate and candy! Since I only got a few years of doing it, I made sure MY kids went out and got a ton. I would never let hubby take them, I marched them around until they were soooo tired....lol

This year I'm sticking with another one of my childhood favorites...

Clue #1 I posted a picture of myself wearing this on here.

Clue #2. It's one of my favorite childhood shows ever...

Stay tuned!
