They've been saying all along how they want to explore why people do what they do. You can see with the big bro how he explains his actions and how he is a bad guy.

A great lesson in psychology and human motivation.

Wow so that just happened

The building bond between Ellie and Sam is adorable. Love to see it.

Great episode and much improved from episode 4. Emotional ending which hit me right in the feels.

This is the first episode I didn't really want to watch because of the subject matter.

Outstanding and crushing all at once. I almost forgot it was airing today. Was shooting the shit with my brother for hours and he wanted to just find one last funny YouTube video before he went home and we saw an episode review in the suggested tab.

Will echo what the last few posts said, Bella Ramsey is legit. I've mentioned it before but I only have a broadstrokes, not even cliff notes knowledge of the story and how it ends, so I can't compare show Ellie to game Ellie. But beyond the point of adaptation comparison, it's a good character being handled well by the actress.

I have more thoughts but it's two in the morning. Either way, great episode. Those starved for action. You got it.

Great episode last night, so Im assuming they are making encounters with infected to be a much bigger deal than in the game. love the work they have done with the show,

although some parts the delivery seems a little rushed. but overall its good a good show. little slow at times and episode 3 was still a giant waste of time towards the overall story even if it was a good episode.

maybe some parts wouldn't feel so rushed if they didn't waste a full episode on two characters that dont really push the story forward.

I assume you never played the game? I guess its hard to feel that way when u already know whats going to happen and your just watching someone play out the same role.

I didn't feel much for Sam and Henry in this show, felt more for sure in the game. dont get me wrong this episode was great but the feels were missing. Sam and Henry went too quickly. for sure you spend more time with them in the game to warrant that feeling. imo

You must be real fun at Christmas Parties, Birthdays, Easter, and any other event where a single ounce of joy is all that is required to join in on the festivities.

Yeah I never played the game. I was hoping those 2 would make it out :(

Why because I enjoyed the game's performers more? their scenes were kinda rushed imo. not enough screen time to really care about them the same way, in the end I knew exactly where it was going everything kinda felt rushed. I for sure felt more in the game then in this show.

Wait are you a grown man who still find joy from Easter? what does mommy hide chocolate eggs for you to search the house still or something?
This is a tv show..... one based off a video game. always going to compare sorry if that's too much for you

its the type of episode side characters get usually between season 5 and 6 as a filler episode. its basically Breaking Bad's fly episode obviously a fly isn't a b character but its still nothing more than a filler episode. which is really weird in a short 9 episode season thats suppose to cover the entire game. so now the events of the 1st game will be done in 8 episodes.

imo they skipped alot of awesome parts in the game, kinda was looking forward to an action filled episode with them setting off all of Bill's traps to being saved by Bill along with Bill and Ellie banter and a plan to get a truck the development between Joel and Ellie was skipped,

hell even if they save the school for later it would have been fine but I didnt like see this end in a happy way, I didn't shed a tear for these characters because they just seemed like a complete opposite from how I viewed Bill, never cared about Frank I mean they could have given us all these moments AND done that romance episode at the same time.

imo this episode was a huge miss from what could have been a epic episode. instead we got a sappy romance that people actually cried to.... lol

I did like the episode but it wasn't anywhere close to what I had in mind for it

its obvious there will be some changes so but far after both episode 1 and 2 it's very true to the game, some parts are even word for word from the game, there was nothing wrong with that 3rd episode at all. it was good tv but they skipped alot of moments I thought would have made some pretty epic TV. after how close 1st and 2nd episodes were this seems like a huge miss. Bill's Town had some pretty awesome moments that surely could have been great even if it was done in a separate episode.

I also thought this show was suppose to follow as closely as possible to the game, thought this show was for others to experience it that would never play the game or video games in general

Which lane are you choosing exactly? Your zigzagging is hard to keep track of.

Yeah for sure, but keep in mind. no one really makes it out alive in this show. other than Bill and well. he decided to commit suicide
so far the show has been great but it's felt really.... rushed. I guess when you have to fit the entire story into 8 episodes, some deliveries of scene's gotta be rushed

and keep in mind, comments I make weeks ago, opinions change... you think I only talk about this show here? Im on alot of discord servers as well in Movie/TV Shows and over the past few weeks opinions change. and will likely continue to change the more I talk about something and see perspectives from others. I'm not so hard headed and stubborn that what I said weeks ago is how I have to think the rest of my life.

also as a huge fan of the game since it's release, it's almost impossible not to look at every scene and compare it to the game. some things Ill like more in the show and others Ill like more in the game.

so far the show at moments just feels rushed. shows still great but seems little rushed. Im going to continue to watch and Ill be buying the series on 4K when it's released

Well I gotta say, Ep 5 is my favorite so far, and what really pushes it, that zombie horde at the end, had game such good game vibes... Starting with the banter between the 3 male and single female character... good, The flood of zombies and the chaos that follows, so good (I'll even forgive it for not hearing random people shouting "reloading.") I would of had that big giant zombie throw boulders and stuff, but not really a big nitpick. But the absolute cherry on top, that brings a smile to my face just thinking about it: When Melanie Lynskey's character get jumped and pummeled... I couldn't have been the only one who shouted at their t.v. "Kathleen startled a witch!"

Edit: for those that aren't into video games... that was a Left 4 Dead reference...

Episode 4 and 5 have been outstanding. Some of the best TV I've seen in a long time.

There was a little too much filler in episode 1 and 3. Episode 2 I liked until that silly infected kiss which makes even less sense now after watching infected rip through people like crazy.

Bella and Pedro are perfect casting choices. I love both of them and as a huge fan of the game (beaten at least 5 times), they are the characters.

I hope these last 4 episodes crush it especially since if season 2 is based off the second game, I probably won't be watching.
