I don’t know where to find stats on what lines a guy has played. Does anyone know?

Subjectively I’ve seen him in far more 1/2 lines than 3rd. Objectively he has played far more 1/2 line this year than 3rd line- why is that not relevant? So if you want to make the claim that he’s been primarily 3rd liner then it’s on you to show something to support that. Anything at all??

Last 3 seasons of 5v5 time on ice with:

Chytil - 1,301
Kakko - 914
Zib - 637
Goodrow - 395
Kreider - 327
Gauthier - 269
Panarin - 263

I find it hilarious to see all these "I told you so" posters these past few pages, when most Lafreniere threads over the past few months have been nothing but negative...I don't remember seeing anywhere close to this many Laf defenders.

I know I predicted in the off-season he'd hit 80 points and be ppg this seaosn, and I'm sticking to it.

Those threads were mostly started by non-Ranger fans and were mostly negative because any time we mentioned ice time or usage, people claimed we were just making excuses. At a certain point, you just let the haters have their thread and believe what they want to believe. It's a waste of time to try to convince them that they are wrong.

This is pure fantasy-land delusion. You do know we can all click over the the rangers board and read you and the rest of your fanbase absolutely eviscerating Laf for the last year +, right??

Screenshots are even better, and also less time consuming to make.

His first three years in the league (which is what you meant to say above, not last three):

Like you said, he played 263:55 with Panarin compared to 2191:13 without (at 5v5).

This year glued to the hip to Panarin (which btw no one is disputing):

Does anyone remember HFBoards when Stamkos came into the league? (For the old timers here)

He was shit on a lot for a couple seasons until he finally matured into what we saw of him since.
Lmfao.

I'm sure he was getting "shit on" when he scored 50 goals as a 19 year old in his second season.

Give me a break.

Stamkos scored more goals in his 4th season alone than Laf has in his entire career. Let's stop comparing them in any way ever.

Laf was never the ultra-elite prospect some thought he was (just look at my post history and my fights on the Rangers board over why Hughes was the much better prospect in their respective draft years).

But he was also never going to be a bottom six bust, either, with even the most minor of coaching.

Gallant tried his best to ruin Laf and sapped him of a ton of confidence. I've honestly never seen a worse coach with a young player than Gallant. Like, if Gallant had not been fired, there's a good chance that he COULD have busted. It just shows you how bad Gallant was for his development as his coach.

Kakko is a different story entirely and I've been down on him for his finishing and skating for ages, now. That's not a coaching issue. That's just a flat-out skill issue.

I remember people crapping on the coach for burying Stamkos in his rookie season, once the coach was fired and Stamkos got a coach that seen the talent he took off.

And he still got 46 points and 23 goals.

PPG doesn't seem likely as Laf is shooting 29% and isn't getting significant PP TOI.

He is though almost certainly going to have a career year but right now it's a low bar.

My guess is 25-30 goals and 60ish points but probably closer to 50.

I will paypal you $10,000 USD if he scores 40+ goals this season send your info.

If you're going to be that obsessed on putting Laf down, at least put your money where your mouth is and make a thread on the main boards pledging that 10 000$ to a charity or a food bank in need if Laffy does score 40. Times are tough, recession looming and interest rates are hurting people, go ahead, do it.

People in the off-season (and for over 1-2 years now) were acting like he's a bust already, and has 0 trade value or close.

To me - he can absolutely still break out and be a star. He's entering his 4th season now - for comparison, MacKinnon didn't break out as a top star until his 5th season. Draisaitl - also 5th season. EP - top of league for points so far this season - also really broke out in his 5th year last year.

I predicted Laf would hit 80 this year - we'll see if he reaches that high or not, but my overall point is it's still too early to give up on him.

Panarin (who rangers fans wanted fired out of a cannon this offseason) deserves almost all of the credit.

I hear Panarin was especially instrumental in that shootout winner last night...
