Roast pork >>>> steak AINEC

Your statement literally has nothing to do what I was talking about. Have you ever had a roast pork cheesesteak? What do you even call that. "Cheeseroastpork" or something like this? Please. And then do you serve it wit CheezWiz or actual cheese who even knows. Either way it would probably taste good, assuming you use Amoroso rolls. That's the vital ingredient no one ever talks about.

In the meantime, as everyone knows, cheesesteaks are barely related to actual steaks, they're a different experience. Please make a note of this for next time. WRT pork, yes roast pork is delicious but this assumes you cook it to 140 or so rather than 165 which was the recommended temp until recently (pork cooked to 165 ends up being way too dry and is no healthier than pork cooked to 140). And yet, Steaks are also delicious if you cook them to 130 or so, esp if you're able to get a good crust on them at the same time. Different discussion.

In the meantime, cheesesteaks are still delicious, independent of however good Roast Pork also tastes -- again this assumes you cook it to the right temp, roast pork cooked through to 165 is not the same.

***

Please let the rest of us know if you're ever tried pork in hoagie roll with cheese (or imitation cheese). Meanwhile to be clear I was not talking about a generalization between roast pork and steak, which clearly would depend on the specific types of cuts of meat and is not nearly as simple as you pretended it was in last post. I was talking about cheesesteaks which are a completely different thing. Thx

I don’t know how to respond to this. Lmao roast pork is another Philly sandwich served with provalone and broccili rabe. That’s what I was opining on haha

Ahhh. I legitimately had no idea what you were talking about. Because "steak" (ie what you said) is not a sandwich. Steak is steak.

I still prefer cheesesteaks to roast pork sandwiches. EIther way the guy who hates Philadelphia is clearly missing out, on that I'm sure we both agree. And also I really miss Reading Terminal Market but that's a completely different discussion

If I send you my address can you send me some? (roast pork sandwiches that is, I'm assuming that's what you're talking about given what the other guy just said)

I hate to break it to you also, but when was the last time you heard of a Philadelphia "cheesexxxx" with something other than steak. A roast pork sandwich is not a "cheesepork" it's a roast pork sandwich. ffs man get it together ;)

Easy, with chicken. And that's not even an animal that actually has a steak either, because "cheesesteak" is tied to the sandwich more than anything else. If you asked me if I wanted a roast pork sandwich I'd say "what's on it?", if you asked me if I wanted a pork cheesesteak I'd say "sure sounds great, unless you're one of those mushroom people" because I know what that is right away and what the parts are.

You're just way wrong on this one

There is nothing called a pork cheesesteak. Sorry bud.

Though maybe there should be...? That's a different discussion. Instead the Philly sandwich Gods have decided that if you sub out the steak with pork you must include broccoli or whatever which completely changes the entire sandwich. Try asking for a cheesesteak with broccoli rabe, a sandwich like that is no longer a cheesesteak.

100% agree that roast pork sandwiches are amazing btw, imo this is an inarguable fact. But, if I had to choose one, cheesesteaks all the way for me.

Also love that the Phila hater appreciates this discussion. Will he pause his hatred so that he can try some of this delicious food? Only time will tell. In my opinion, very doubtful his hatred will be able to stay intact when confronted with multiple delicious sandwiches, whether that's cheesesteaks or roast pork sandwiches or anything else. Personally I don't have the desire to be responsible for changing his entire identity, he seems like a happy hater why change. He is certainly missing out on some delicious sandwiches tho

I, too, hate Philadelphia. But I have spent enough time to appreciate it's food. No one can take that from it.

Back to Laf: his epic keep-him-away-from-the-weak molestache is clearly the driver of his early success.

You can go to a handful of sandwich shops right now and get a chicken cheesesteak. f***in' Jersey Mike's has one, although it's called a Chicken Philly, we all know what's going on there. Best case you could say it's because it's chicken breast, not a steak, because a steak is actually defined as something sliced against the grain of the proteins. Deer steak, elk steak, multiple fish like tuna can have a steak, even lamb and pork.

You're splitting some weird, weird hairs here because "steak" isn't limited to beef. If you made a cheesesteak sandwich from a pork steak, it's still a steak. Nothing is definitively wrong there.

Bro that's what I'm talking about. It's called a chicken cheesesteak. It's not called a cheesechicken or a cheesebreast or anything like that. The pork version is definitely not called a cheesepork (and a roast pork is a completely different sandwich, it is not a pork cheesesteak which does not even exist, whether it should exist or not is a different argument entirely)

(eyeroll)

But again, ignoring the entire second part where I point out that steak is not synonymous with beef, and flattening the entire argument.

Again, pork can have steaks, and you’ve already ruled against that but it’s no less true.

Of course you can make steaks out of pork. But a roast pork sandwich is called a roast pork!! It's not a cheesesteak. It's a completely different thing

(And also very delicious, btw)

I think fantasy hockey has a lot to do with it. Way too many posters are stat and advanced stat watchers for their fantasy teams instead of IRL hockey fans and post accordingly.
Also watching people drafted after a given player have earlier success warps opinion. Like, it's hard not to compare LAF and Byfield to Stutzle
