Has anyone had any trouble with Jurco developing? 3 years into my Baltic be a gm hes only gone upto 73.

don't think I've gotten him past an 83. one Detroit player I see develop well is Mantha. usually ends up 86+ with decent trade value by the time he's 26.

Backing up the folks who are saying Zykov, Erne and Rychel are winners.

I gave my Zykov and Erne stories before (latest update on them is Zykov is an 87 ovr, all 95+ in shooting, big enough to hit people off their skates and has some handles and quicks... Erne is a 84 ovr version of virtually the same), so I'll just give you the Rychel story.

I forget how I got him originally, but I think I claimed Rychel off waivers in the first or second season. I put him in the AHL and forced him into the lineup when he wasn't a default plug-in (want to say he was a rated in the 60's). In that first year he broke 70 and kept going the next two years. Of the three mentioned above, Rychel took the longest to reach the league, but that's only because I had no room for him on the big club when he was ready. He spent the 16/17 season in the minors, beginning the year at 81 ovr and ending at 83, winning the AHL version of the scoring title, MVP, etc. After mini-camp in the 17/18 preseason, he climbed to 84 where he still is now with about a month to go in the season. He's playing on my second line with Stepan and Erne and is almost guaranteed to win the Calder.

As a player, he's smaller than both Zykov and Erne, but he can still hit and he takes the role of pwrf/enf when Erne is in the box and someone drills Stepan (or one of my highly ranked D-men like Carlson, J. Johnson or McDonagh). He's a little quicker than Erne with a slightly better shot and he's an excellent passer too. A great overall player who has made my last year's 1st round pick (Guillaume Gauthier) irrelevant and expendable.

I've coming up on my second fictional draft and I could really use some of the 5-Green-Star Goalies you all seem to be running into. This draft looks pretty thin up top, and I really don't need more depth. Last year's top pick (third overall), Thomas Dubinsky, would've cracked most NHL lineups but is tearing it up in the OHL. He started the year as an 80 and he's now 84 ovr. Can't wait to see him join the big club next season.

Yup. Zykov just put up a 51g 51a year for the Kings in my current BeaGM.

Also just drafted an enforcer defenseman 1st overall in 2024, haha. He's 60 overall with yellow 4.5*, I traded up just because I found it hilarious that an enforcer was going first overall.

Monahan,
Saad
Horvat,
Gallagher, NEVER develop for me.

I played Saad on the second line with Kane and a center (Brassard maybe?) and managed to get him to 83 after the first year. I usually manage to get him around 85/86 within four years.

Anyone have any experience with goalie Eric Brassard? Toronto drafted him in my Flyers GM mode, he's 46 overall, 19 years old with 4.5 yellow stars for potential, was looking at trading for him to get a goalie to replace Steve Mason down the road.

Wtf. Back to back cups with my current Rangers team in 2026, and Ty Ronning has won both Conn Smythes. The first one was legit, he put up 12g 12a in 20 games, but this time he only played 9 games since he was injured to start playoffs and put up 8 points..

Whereas my goalie went 16-3 with a 1.33GAA, 95.21%sv to go along with his 5 shutouts.. Makes sense. That was all simmed aswell, I didn't intervene once.

Started one with Colorado today... How fast do Mackinnon, Landeskog, and O'Reilly develop? Picked up Hedman for Johnson because I know Hedman gets high and Johnson doesn't. Also got Hamonic, how does he fare?

Don't know about Ritchie or Bennett, but Sam progresses pretty well, usually about an 87 or so for me. Unfortunately, Draisaitl never progresses in mine, and Bo Horvat never becomes anything higher than a low 80s depth player. I don't know about the rest of Van's prospects, but I know that I force fed Horvat second line minutes and points, and he STILL never became anything useful

About three season in, Mac hits mid 80's and increases to about a 90ish in about another two. I found Johnson worked well when I traded for him on CHI and played him with Leddy/Keith. Hamonic gets around the 85-87 range typically.

Lehkhonen, not really. Andrighetto, don't think so. De LA rose i don't think is in the game.

dammit !!
I'm pretty sure he's in the game though. I made a fast gm mode yesterday to see the players and he was there. I bought the game yesterday btw thats why I'm asking.

Im going to go through most of the prospects in the league to make them better cause what I'm reading here is telling me that a lot of them don't progress.

A piece of advice if you want good, young players for dirt cheap, get the red 4.5 guys like Rychel,Erne,Ceci,Sprong,Honka. They always work out to be great players for me even though that isn't the point of the red star.

How often have any of you seen young players' potentials grow in star "color"? I had Tom Wilson listed as a Depth FWD, and his stats weren't good enough for my 4th line so I played him in the AHL on the top line, top PP line, top PK, etc... We win the cup that year, and he comes out of the year with 3 1/2 Green stars whereas he had 3 1/2 yellow before that...just find this weird because usually when I put young, yellow potential players w/ "depth" designation in the minors, they almost always drop to red.

Having good point production helps. I had a guy I drafted, name was Preston Dembski computer generated so don't worry about, it but he dame out of the draft at about 81 overall and 4.5 yellow. He couldn't score to save his life, but was the best playmaker in the league, first year scored 10 goals and around 45 assists, then jumped to 84 overall and for the next 3 years he would put up around 15 goals and 65-85 assists. After that he proceeded to jump for 84-85-86 and then to 4.5 green.

That's my story, so I would believe it is production based so long as he is playing at or above their role.

Interesting, just had never seen them go up like that, only down haha.
