His terrible performance is why the Canucks didn't beat the Coilers in the playoffs. Everyone else was going but him, and it was the difference.

Could have been in the cup finals if he was even 50% of what he is now paid to be.
This is probably exaggerating a bit.

Sure, Pettersson only scored 1 goal the entire playoff run.

But it's not like him scoring 1 more goal would've made a difference.

I mean, the Canucks lost to the Oilers by 1 goal in Game 7, but who's to say 1 more goal would've made a difference?

Plus overall, he was solid in the playoffs. Outside of Boeser, Miller, Lindholm, Hughes, Zadorov and Joshua, he led the Canucks in scoring.

Yep a tad to much to ask. At this point we are begging for even 1 assist. Just give us a nice secondary assist Petey.

Eff at this point I will take a nice pass that leads to a scoring chance.......maybe even a solid defensive play.......ANYTHING FOR GAWDS SAKES?!?!?!!!!!!.........Fuk he's been pretty painful to watch this game...............

Honestly, even if you think Pete does return to form after a healthy off-season, the risk still remains that he’s an injury prone player.

He’s a small boned type that has a poor height-weight distribution. He’s not exactly built for playoff hockey against the likes of MacK, McDavid or Draisaitl. There’s a good likelihood that he takes on more injuries as he gets older.

Then there’s more intangible stuff, like questions about his commitment to fitness and preparation. Or how he does not join team events and they don’t do typical wag stuff. Or whether he’s got that drive to lead the team, to be better than the other guy in a tightly fought 7 game series.

I can’t say that the return would be any good, and I hate to be toxic masculine in this kind of way, but his attitude, body language, and drive is so pathetic. Like a feckless, low T man child.

It's crazy that we could've gotten Necas, Kotkaniemi, Morrow and a 1st for him just a year ago.

Now we'll be lucky to unload his cap hit without taking back a similarly bad contract.

I think most people would be happy to just get the cap space back, the dream of getting back multiple good young players is a pipe dream at this point.

I'd expect a JT Miller-esque return.
