Honestly, even if you think Pete does return to form after a healthy off-season, the risk still remains that he’s an injury prone player.
He’s a small boned type that has a poor height-weight distribution. He’s not exactly built for playoff hockey against the likes of MacK, McDavid or Draisaitl. There’s a good likelihood that he takes on more injuries as he gets older.
Then there’s more intangible stuff, like questions about his commitment to fitness and preparation. Or how he does not join team events and they don’t do typical wag stuff. Or whether he’s got that drive to lead the team, to be better than the other guy in a tightly fought 7 game series.
I can’t say that the return would be any good, and I hate to be toxic masculine in this kind of way, but his attitude, body language, and drive is so pathetic. Like a feckless, low T man child.
