To wrap it up and put a bow on this tournament for Petey, his last shift was at 14:25 of the third and was replaced by Arvidsson. He had the lowest amount of ice time among forwards and that's with 3 MINUTES on the PP. Can't wait to see him back in Van well rested.

For the record, he had the least ice-time and the fewest shifts of any Swedish forward. No shots on goal, no hits, and no shot blocks.

Pretty much worst case scenario. The one good thing you can usually say about his game is that he’s elite defensively and yet wasn’t trusted by the coaching staff to defend the lead in the third and sat for the final 15 minutes. Complete non factor even playing with talented wingers. Couldn’t hold his head above water and be a net neutral on the PP, he was actively hurting them. His usage just kept dropping as the tournament went on.

This sucks.

Why would the NHL schedule the final game for a Thursday? Wouldn't the weekend provide better ratings? (I'm complaining b/c I won't be able to watch it. LOL. I also admit that this has been a pretty good tournament despite my earlier skepticism of it. Now I want to watch it but I can't.)

I didn't watch the game. How was he "actively hurting" the team?

It is in the end a joke of a tournament. Only reason we care is because of Trump’s comments.

Sweden has absolutely no business being here and I think they know it. Hard to get up for games your teammates hardly give a shit about. Which funny enough, was Millers problem. Hand it to Miller, he had no fear getting his ass handed to him in a pointless dick-measuring type of fight.

And that’s why we’ll beat them Thursday. Or should. The Tkachuks are the only ones on that team that really know what it takes to win.

Turning the puck over on the power play.

Players need time to rest, do you expect them to play in the weekends and then fly back the next day to their respective teams and then jump right back into the season with no rest?

Couldn't they have just started the games back a few days later? It's all pretty much within their control.

Sure it’s meaningless, but it’s also exposure on a large stage with the entire league watching. This has done nothing to rehabilitate his value or his confidence, and has probably harmed both.

The bar was pretty low but having the lowest TOI despite having one of their top centers scratched is bleak.

seems like they wanted to budget 2 weeks worth of time for this whole thing, including breaks for the players and they decided to just start it off at a weekend. They could’ve started it in the middle of the week but humans tend to like to schedule things at the start if a month/week just because.

Management needs to think really hard what to do...

At this point, teams will be doing Canucks a favour and hope a sweetener isn't required to be added to offload a boat anchor.

I don't like Seravalli, but the fact Pettersson just blew a goose in front of the entire NHL and was relegated to under 10 minutes on the Swedish national team is gonna be a story.
Doesn’t that just point to the fact yes, this is a physical issue and not a whatever the f*** emotional BS you guys convinced yourselves to be?

Yeah turns out playing a best on best doesn’t magically make physical issues go away. Surprised pikachu face.
