Like i said in the other thread, he didnt belong at this tournament. Truly sucked to watch.

I hope he can recover, whether it is here or elsewhere. I am not so sure you could even move him right now. He was too good a player for whatever the f*** we've been watching this past year. It really sucks.

JT Miller - zero points in 3 games. USA scored 6 goals against Finland in their 1st game, and Miller didn't get one assist.
But he did get his lunch handed to him by Parayko on Saturday night.

I’m going to comment on this because no one suddenly cares about what Miller does now

I thought he’s had a dreadful tournament. Even worse than EP.

I really don't think they even can trade him at this point, his value is probably trashed after that.

Works for me!

There goes the linemates excuse

Oh, I thought we shifted from that narrative already.

His agent said he was hurt last season, so he didn't get to do strength training in the off season.
I mean, if we are to believe that reasoning. Then his agent basically bought him some more time, until the beginning of next season.

It's a huge gamble if management wants to believe that and wait.

Fans here: Petey looks slow and off this season, I can’t figure out why, must be emotional.
Agent: he injured in offseason, couldn’t train properly.
Fans: I can’t tell why he just looks so slow and off, what is going on?

There will be a 2026 my guy….time marches on.

He’s being trusted on the #1 PK, #2 PP is out protecting the lead and taking key faces offs.

He don’t score but he had a much better tournament than EP

Sure it’s meaningless, but it’s also exposure on a large stage with the entire league watching. This has done nothing to rehabilitate his value or his confidence, and has probably harmed both.

The bar was pretty low but having the lowest TOI despite having one of their top centers scratched is bleak.

The best time to punch someone is when they aren’t looking. If they are looking, they can defend themselves properly. That’s all I’ll say on that one.

EP himself says differently.

You think someone would do that? Just go in front of a microphone and tell lies?

Ive been in the he was injured camp and am not arguing against that.

However his confidence in himself and will to even attempt anything is obliterated. Bad knee or not, It is painful to watch

Frank Seravelli is a tool. He knows what he's doing - that guy rides the Oilers like no other "insider" and it's been well reported that Petey is off the block, yet he throws "trade target" out like that. Invest in some hair dye, Benjamin button reincarnate

Despite Petey's shit performance, it did look like he could load his knee in a powerful stride on a few shifts. Shifts that didn't materialize into anything but that's another point lol. All we can do is hope he turns it around. The team needs him to be a 1C if they ever want to contend.

It's hard to keep up so I don't blame you.

First we started with "but his linemamates!"

Then we shifted to "well, he's obviously injured"

After that it was "Miller is bullying him"

Then it was "he doesn't get enough time with Hughes"

Followed closely by "he has chronic tendonitis that needs to be rested for 365 days to heal properly"

And then there was "he's no longer injured but he missed training camp and thus you cannot expect him to play well at all this season, we'll have to wait until next season"

Next season the excuse will kick the can forward into 2027.

We’ve all had a jobs with a dickhead supervisor right? Miller is that supervisor. He thinks he has it all figured out and reality is he doesn’t because his game turns into a little baby who isn’t getting his way. He was every bit as bad as EP was for that.

People do it all the time...but honest people don't.

I’m pretty honest, can’t speak for EP or his agent though. Maybe they figured out how to game the media.

Y'all are reading way to much into a 3 game all star tournament.

Yeah but we’re having fun! 🤩

Doesn’t that just point to the fact yes, this is a physical issue and not a whatever the f*** emotional BS you guys convinced yourselves to be?

Yeah turns out playing a best on best doesn’t magically make physical issues go away. Surprised pikachu face.
Or, ya know, his confidence issues are so bad, not even playing for his nation can help him right now.

Pretty much where I’m at. I’m willing to accept the wait and see approach because what choice to do we have at this point? But in the meantime, the sheer degree of ineffectiveness has been alarming and it will continue to be a story as we push for a playoff spot down the stretch.

Whatever his physical limitations might be from lack of training he has to find a way to assert influence over games again.

I mean, sure, if you just ignore what Alvin said, and if you just ignore the fact that tons of players have far worse injuries and can’t train for similar or longer stretches, but yet come back playing far better than Pettersson. It’s incredible to me that’s it’s been accepted by some that because he rehabilitated an injury in the offseason (which again, isn’t some unique thing), he is scoring at around half the rate he normally does five months into the season. I’d love to smoke some of that copium.

Frankly, if his play is still bad because of an injury, I’m more inclined to believe his knee is still f***ed, rather than off season training at this point. We’ve seen elite players tear MCLs or ACLs, and be out months in season, and come back way closer to their normal effectiveness then Pettersson.
