What happened last night absolutely transcended Hockey, how amazing is that, absolutely viral everywhere around the world, especially the USA.

From major celebrities, politicians, news networks like Fox News, and CNN talking about it, it’s wild.

This is so good for Hockey

Predictably, American/Russian propaganda pages on FB, etc. are all taking a break from their Musk knobslobbing this morning to push the idea that the Americans "beat the shit" out of the Canadians immediately after the start of the game for booing the anthem. Lmfao.

I was talking with a couple of guys from the US delegation and they were slightly unaware of things that a certain person has said(No politics) and due to how they gather their news they were unaware of certain things

Do they gather their news by finding the biggest rock possible and jamming their head underneath it?

Paul Henderson wasn't just the "hero" in that series (granted he did end up scoring the important goals). Tony "O" held the fort as the Russian figured out Ken Dryden. They couldn't figure out "O" has he had his own unique "style"

Pretty sure Clarke's lumber breaking Kharlamov's ankle was the difference-maker in that series

Given that Orr could not play, of course

The problem I am seeing(I am in the US right now) is that the US media is picking up the booing but not explaining WHY we are upset. The only reason it’s viral right now is because of Trump and tariffs.

Because that is in the news, coupled with Canadian fans booing the American national anthem, I’m not surprised the Americans are all over this especially after a win.

It's becoming too big an 'inconvenient truth' to ignore. Unless Canada does a better job of developing young goaltenders, they might have serious trouble ever winning in these International Tournaments again. The gap in quality net-minding is just becoming too great.

You look at the crease in this tournament. Finland has Saros and Lankinen. Saros was a great goalie once, but that was 'then' and this is now. And as good as Lankinen has been for the Canucks, he was still without a contract the start of training camp.

Sweden is going with Ullmark, Markstrom and Gustavsson. Ullmark and Markstrom are good when they're not injured. But amongst the best goalies in the world? I don't think so. And of course Canada is trying to muddle through with Binnington and Hill--which screams 'journeymen' to me.

Hellebucyk is far and away the best goaltender in this tournament, and it's not even remotely close.

It would help if Canada brought their best options to the tournament to begin with.

Nature of the position. Between costs, coaching, opportunties, mentally challenging, etc. fewer kids are as eager to become goalies.

But, you are correct that Canada has to figure out how to develop the ones that they do have coming through their system.

Should Canada score more… sure especially with their players, but they played well enough defensively that in a 2-1 game with both goals being bad goals… yeah the difference is goaltending
Asi it should be when it's Bennington bs hellebuck. Make the difference forwards.

I dont mean to be a negative nancy but i found the first half and the second half last night quite different

First half i was invested.. 2nd half i was impressed i made it through the 3rd.

Put hill in… gives you a better shot in every statistical way. Think the same could be said about Mont… but not as much.
Again though, we can't expect our goalie to get a shut out for us to get a win. This is 2011 scf argument all over again. You can't win when you score 1 goal. Score more goals.

Biggest news to come out of the Four Nations so far? Injuries to Matthew Ttkachuk and Shea Theodore, which might force them to miss games down the stretch in the NHL.

Vegas and Florida must be doing 'slow burns'. Thank God Quinn Hughes skipped this tournament. Without him down the stretch, the Canucks would probably be 'dead in the water'.

Sigh. What a pitiful wretch. Need to bring bullying back for tools like this.
The good thing about the orange man in the US being elected is that maybe we Canadians will get off our butts and start to square away our issues. A major wake up call. This tournament should also be a wake up call to Hockey Canada in regard to making the game accessible to everybody and developing more talent.

you guys think this dude had to fight someone or some people last night?

Freedom of speech. He has every right to wear that.

I only had that argument with everyone here 10000 times during that summer.

Vancouver fans almost to a man think the entire defensive game is the goalies responsibility.

Still, game 6 was a winnable game up until the floodgates were opened.
