OT: The Food & Drinks Thread (Part 5)

Wanted to make a pitcher of long island ice tea and was not sure of the measures and made a single serving first and that was not it! little room for the coke. A wee bit strong and gagged on the fumes but otherwise the alcohol is practically indiscernible. Readjusted and the pitcher came out A-OK.:thumbu::thumbu:

Aye Captain, we managed to keep her together, my wee bairns.

You should changed your handle from Young to Beef.

Scotty called his warp engines his bairns

That might upset and antagonize the PETA and vegan community and I'll end up getting slaughtered, talk about irony:laugh:

He did? never noticed. Any chance you remember an episode when he did?

I've really been craving some good fried chicken sandwiches recently. After some online sleuthing, this is what I've tried in the past 2 weeks:

- Piri-Piri from St-Hubert
- Spicy Burger from Rooster Express
- MegaRoch from Roch le Coq
- Spicy chicken sandwhich from Deli La Trattoria

Can you fellas please recommend me some of your ultimate fried chicken burger/sandwich places

Made a New York Sour today. Was a little heavy on the wine pour, but hey, it's Saturday.

2 oz bourbon (I used Knob Creek Single Barrel)
1 oz lemon juice
0.75 oz simple syrup

Shaken and double strained, and then a float of red wine

Any suggestion as to other excellent ideas for butternut squash? I got a great go to but looking for other options. Tossed with olive oil, cumin, cinnamon, s&p and cayenne and roasted and then a little melted butter, honey, lemon juice and thyme drizzle.

Perhaps it was the choice of wine? Shiraz has a distinct flavor that might overpower rather than enhance, but I have a hard time with Shiraz as it is.

Peel and prep your choice of vegetables cut into bite-sized pieces. Toss together in a large roasting pan seasoning liberally with salt and pepper and other seasonings. We like to use butternut squash, parsnips, carrots, sweet potatoes, red onion, and a couple of apples. Season a large roasting chicken with lots of salt and pepper and rest on the bed of vegetables. Roast. Use a pair of tongs to shred and tear the meat from the bones directly into the vegetables and juices. Serve and enjoy a nice simple winter warmer!
