lol, I'm ready to ignore the thread and the poster.Cool thread, hope to see a few more just like it soon.
lol as opposed to every other goalie out there except maybe 3 or 4 at best.It is a major change for sure but the 2 guys He has bet on are very long shots at best and total disasters at worst
First you tell Nylander that if he wants to stay his training camp is going to pure hell. Otherwise we can trade you today. If he wants to stay and will change his attitude then you tell Tavares that it hasn’t worked here and that his greatest value to the team is his cap space. Ask him to provide a list of teams he’d prefer and tell him you’ll try to accommodate.Nylander has been our most productive player in the playoffs. Matthews looked good this playoffs as did Marner.
I don't know how we trade our other 11m player though. If there is a solution to that pass it to Kyle.
What a terrible offseason
Gaudette, Aube Kubel, Malgin, Benn, Mete
Some of these players are playing game 1. These are not all players for marlies, these are game 1 players which is scary as hell.
The bottom 6 up front is atrocious.
You don't "tell" JT anything because for starters, he doesn't have to leave. The only way you even think about trying to move him is to broach the subject very politely and with respect and no matter how you do it, it's not likely to turn out well. It was a major coup when pajama boy signed here, we made him captain and asking the home town boy to leave now would be a massive PR blow to the organization.First you tell Nylander that if he wants to stay his training camp is going to pure hell. Pick up phone and start calling other teams.
You always use respect and broach it however you see fit, but the reality is youre telling him he’s out the door, and you convince him it was his(JT) idea. You don't "tell" JT anything because for starters, he doesn't have to leave. So bc Nylander internalizes his compete, that's a bad thing?First you tell Nylander that if he wants to stay his training camp is going to pure hell. Otherwise we can trade you today. I’m convinced Nylander has a fear that he has to overcome. So bc Nylander internalizes his compete, that's a bad thing?
I can’t see Sandin being threatened by Mete.Kyper saying signing Mete is a message to Sandin that he has a replacement if he does not sign and/or show up to training camp. Says Kyle is playing hardball with Sandn. Then adds isn't it too late to be playing hardball?
I can’t see Sandin being threatened by Mete.
Imagine the posts if Ottawa or Montreal lost 6 straight 1st round playoffs.Guys let’s be honest, if any other team in the league lost in the first round six straight times with practically the same management, coaching and players, and seemingly refuse to make any major changes to get over the hump, we’d all be rightfully clowning them. Yet with the Leafs it’s always the same excuses.

That’s why they laugh at us. My friend is a Bruins fan and he can’t believe how we just rationalize losing now, especially a warrior like Shanny. Ten years ago Shanahan would have lambasted the word salad here for losing, he would never have stood for it. We’re the nicest organization in hockey and you know what they say about nice guys…Imagine the posts if Ottawa or Montreal lost 6 straight 1st round playoffs.
If you are a Leaf fan and say you would be all over that with ridicule, you’re lying.
It’s been done in the past and will be done in the future. You’re making ridiculous excuses. Weak people, my goodness.Telling him he's "out the door" is anything but respectful.
His response is likely to be that you begged me to come here, this is my hometown which is why I came after turning down offers for more money and I'm not going anywhere.
And if this leaks to the media (more than likely), there will be a shitstorm the likes of which I haven't seen in this town during my lifetime (which includes the Ballard years).
Cause few of them has made a significant impact.I'm convinced some posters here don't actually pay attention to the team, and just angrily slam their fingers into keyboards.
Dubas has signed depth pieces every single off-season since he arrived. The one competitive financial advantage the Leafs have over other teams, is that they can offer higher AHL salaries/1-way deals to a lot of guys - this is something they've always done.
So why now is it a problem?
Done with players of JT's stature, I don't think so. I'd love to be wrong though, can you give me an example or two? It’s been done in the past and will be done in the future. You’re making ridiculous excuses. Weak people, my goodness.
I thought picking up Muzzin and Campbell from LA was good.Just spent some time looking through Dubas trade history on Cap Friendly. Worth a look to be honest. Lots of small scale creative moves to get us extra picks, trading down in the draft, etc that are all pluses.
As far as for outright winning trades, I have to say the losses are quite a bit more than the wins. Hyman deal was a steal, I would argue we also won the Kapanen trade, and then the Mrazek trade looksok, although cleaning up his own mess.
There's a bunch of trades that are a wash, paying roughly market value for players and such. But honestly theres a number of trades that are straight up losses. Marleau trade still seems excessive even after all those years, the Kadri and Foligno trades are atrocious, Malgin for Marchment is awful.
So I'm not sure how much I trust Dubie to make a huge trade. In hindsight not a lot of his trades look good tbh.
A player is a player. If they decided they want to move him, they will move him. Same with Muzzin.Done with players of JT's stature, I don't think so. I'd love to be wrong though, can you give me an example or two?

Not without his permission they don't. Any luck finding those examples I asked for?A player is a player. If they decided they want to move him, they will move him. Same with Muzzin.
Go look for yourself. Not without his permission they don't. Any luck finding those examples I asked for?
I'll suggest this as an explanation: negotiation pressure on the Sandin camp. Or replacement if Sandin gets moved.
