The 'f*** the negativity' thread

As a matter of fact can you give a brief summary of what oilers fans had an issue with him about. I want to see if it’s just our “negative” fan base or these issues were prevalent to you guys as well
The things we most had an issue with was his deployment of players was extremely vanilla, it not only hurt as 5v5 but also on the powerplay. Gully was able to fix that a little when we let one of TMac's henchmen go and later brought in Hitch, so the blame doesn't totally follow Tmac, but given he likes to drag the same poeple from job to job he shouldn't get off the hook either.

It was the same issues you seem to be having, his final stretch of games he was trying to play Chiasson 16+ minutes a night and giving him premium PP1 time. Never bothered to try and develop any kind of point threat, so teams just boxed out McDrai and watched our PP sputter along at 14%. First year under Tippett it was 29%....I doubt that's because McDrai suddenly had a revelation about how to play on the powerplay at 23-24 years old, I'll chalk that up to a totally bunk system.

Worst IMO is that TMac refused to any kind of line matching, ever. It seriously felt like Home games were away games, he just trotted out lines 1-4 in order, occasionally double shifting line 1. Never seeming to utilize last change for an advantage. Players never ever got out of his doghouse (makes development real hard). Once he didn't like you, that's it, bye bye. Unfortunately he never stopped liking shitty older players we could afford to pressbox, but that's probably why he always keeps the room happy...don't piss of vets.

Big surprise when we start losing the game almost immediately because the other team is somehow getting favourable matchups the entire period. Then his solution to being down in games was to put McDrai together, load up one line and pray. Sometimes that works because they're insane players, but its what lead to bonkers ice time because we spend so much time losing. Eventually they need a rest, then you've got 3 lines of trash that hasnt been engaged in the game, so of course they all get caved in and the hole gets larger.

Just became a self fufiling prophecy after a while...Load up the top line, play them too much. Ruin the rythm for the rest of the team and have low skill lines everywhere else. Bottom 9 sits too long, has no momentum, gives up another goal. Play the top line even more in order to gain ground. Rinse. Repeat.

I can't put it all on him, especially Vet ice time, because quite honestly our GM wasn't bringing anyone good in because it was Chiarelli. Blake has at least tried to make his job easier, Chia just brought in the f***ing Bennings of the world and the guy that injured McDavid lmao. That said, he clearly wasn't going to be able to get back to the high water mark of 2017. Lucic turned into garbage in short order, but who knows what that was about, because he seemingly went from a shell to something better when he got himself over to CGY. No use speculating what caused that.

At the end of the day, I don't need to look any further than SJS. He never took that team anywhere in the playoffs, he's just not that level of coach. He's a guy that will give you average seasons, never really loses the room because he keeps the right players happy, in other words - a safe hire. He isn't going to win you a cup. Soon as they jettisoned his ass they went to the SCF, and I don't even think Deboer is very good.

Best thing we got from Tmac was that he brought Woody with him. That's just my $0.02, sorry, don't mean to inject myself into your boards arguments.

Its pretty much exact to what kings fans are seeing from him. He does have a system that works and gets guys to play hard for him so its not all bad. But funny that multiple fanbases see his game management has been his problem throughout his coaching career.

Did he hate calling timeouts when the team gave up goals in bunches?

Really just addressing the bolded part.....because that's fundamentally flawed, everyone says take XXXXX off of PP1 and it will be better....or put XXXXX on PP1 and it will be better.......

I really wanna know what crystal balls are being used to foresee that, I want them for my lottery tickets,

Everyone says IF this happened then this would happen.....like it's a given....again, what crystal ball is being used?

If you want to say do this because it can't be any worse.....that's fine.....but then there are repercussions of doing XXXX....doesn't mean we turn out where we are, or better....

So the bitchfest over Tmac and how shitty he is....as he brings a team that no one expected to sniff the playoffs...to the playoffs....get's a bit....tiring because everyone is using maybe...maybe...maybe...15% of all the given information, if anyone things they have 100% of the information and therefore would do this over this, they are just lying to themselves....

There is not a single perfect, coach, player, GM, in the league, but for f*** sake, can we really stop pretending that a guy who has had 1,000 games coached, is f***ing clueless about the game? I mean seriously?
Guess Coach got himself a hf account .. haha

You have to excuse Kings fans if they don't buy in to how good a team is simply by making the playoffs in a weak division since the Kings haven't strung together back-to-back playoff seasons since 2013 and '14.

Yet.....a supposedly better team in Vegas.....isn't making the playoffs in the same weak division......weird.

If the kings make it i think they can take calgary and edmonton in a series if they play their game and get good goaltending. In my head the central teams just arent as much of a good matchup for the kings in a playoff series.

I think they can take Edmonton, I think Calgary is a tougher sell, and I think they can take St. Louis or Minny, or at least give them a series, but COL won't...be close

I’m used to being excited about who the Kings will pick within the top 5 picks in the draft…I’ll take 16th overall all damn day long!

Just out of curiosity, where did they rank in 2012?
Kings regular season record in 2012 was 40-27-15 for 95 points...and a lot of people have made hay that is actually a losing record.

So far this season, Kings are 41-27-10 for 92 points, and appear likely they will have a winning record and exceed the 95 points in 2012. In fact, they still have a chance at a total of 100 points if they win out. And given their level of opponents, they should most definitely get to 98 points, which would clinch a playoff spot.

They will end up with a better regular season record than they did in 2012, but in reality the team is not seasoned enough to go on a 16-4 Stanley Cup playoff run. That particular run has got to go down in history as one of the most unlikely and surreal runs ever. I will of course be rooting for them to shit all over Edmonton, but it's not likely that they will beat them in the first round. But hockey is hockey, so who knows?

In honor of this very unexpected, successful season...here are a few game recaps that highlight some of the most impressive performances:

And then, here's a couple for Sol's viewing pleasure:

That Pens game was glorious.
Yea that was the one that really changed things in my view. They were winning games before that but that one was where the identity of the team came together.
Not that Pittsburgh is the best team in the league but they are great and the Kings absolutely outclassed them in every way.
