Kopitar 77GP 18G 44A 62PTS, which is where he's always at...

so how did the Danault signing help with the heavy lifting done by Kopitar?

You guys promised me that by adding a 2nd C that does all the dirty, it will help Kopitar WAY MORE than actually adding a scoring winger to his line

Y'all were told a potion would prevent you from getting contaminated, but y'all ended up contaminated and now y'all want to argue that the contaminant would be much much worse if it weren't for the potion

Danault had no impact on Kopitar

Get Kopitar a damn winger

screw this management
Big game tomorrow! Ya pumped?

So....we should get Kopitar a winger who can score 30 + goals....right?

Kopitar played better when he had lighter minutes this season. Todd literally didn’t cut his TOI one bit. Not too mention out of sheer determination to pound a square peg in a round hole Brown and Iafollo were chemically bonded to his ass when they were colder than Eskimo vagina for large portions of the year.

Todd has horrible game management and adjustment skills. We have our second cup because of that. Dude has not improved in 10 years in the league in his deficiencies. We should have Alanis Morrisette sit behind the bench and just belt out the chorus of Ironic every time he gets out coached in a game.

You are just either being a total dick or you are absolutely clueless.

I can't speak for everyone, but I'm definitely not in this to be contrarian. I'm not going to waste my breath because you prob won't listen anyways, I'll just leave this quote from and EDM fan who was following the game thread the other night:

>>The Kings seem like a success story this year no matter what happens and I don't know why some of ya'll are so negative about your team...<<

But again, it's a flawed premise.

I give you and GBH the credit that you can walk and chew gum at the same time. Neither of you seem to be able to afford anyone else the same credit.

For example, the idea that Kopitar playing less than 22 minutes is 'negativity' despite 1. being reasonable at this stage of his career; 2. demonstrably different results in the two sample sizes; 3. wanting the best for the team in suggesting that. But instead it gets twisted to "ok sure but you're not an NHL coach" and we're bad fans. It's horse shit binary labeling when there's an enormous ocean of grey area between "this team is a surefire cup contender and I'm always smiling" and "this team and everything associated with it is a dumpster fire and i'm hatewatching it just to post here miserably". I'm not sure why you can't see that given you were on the other side of the equation before, but I would suggest entering other threads without an axe to grind and see how the discussion goes instead of going in with the prejudice that 'every opinion that's not relentlessly positive is written from a negative perspective.'

Jesus Christ, you guys are making this way more granular than it needs to be - go explain all that to the EDM fan, I don't care.

Now careful here, I bolded this part, to point out that it's not written from a negative angle.....a lot of it is written from the I don't know f***all about pro sports angle, with a ton of hindsight thrown in for mix.

Now knowing how pissed off that made you, answer me this,

You say playing Kopitar 22 minutes or less......and adding Kaliyev to PP1 on the offset improves this team... (I am assuming you are on the 2nd part about Kaliyev, but if you are not, let's pretend and say you are , or use the YOU in general terms)

Tell me how you know this.....tell me how you know this improves the team?

LMAO

Found the cause of all your problems on this forum...

Please, you and GBH just put me on ignore from now on, thanks.

Dunno, but for that to be any bit relevant, you would have to show causation....not just correlation.

It's almost as relevant as, what is LA's record when TJ Tynan plays any minutes.....

No, it was a simple question. What's LA's record when 11 plays more than 22 minutes? Not being negative asking this, more curious than anything. You're reading way too much into it. If you can't answer it, why respond? Because of "causation"? Please.. It's a simple W & L question, nothing more nothing less.

And again, I don't know, I haven't looked it up,

I can later if you are that set on it, but again, that's like asking about the price of tea in China....it doesn't really matter....

The Kings' record when Kopitar plays in 22 minutes or more is 12-9-5. All but two of the losses (and OTLs) have come against Western Conference opponents, and only three of those wins came against teams that are in a playoff spot.

I'm not sure it's a simple question really. I haven't researched it by any means, but I'd assume most/all teams have a worse record when their top players play more minutes than they would normally average. Does Edmonton have the same or better record if McDavid plays more than 24 minutes? I haven't dove into the numbers but I'd wage no, cause if they had a better record they'd likely play him more, right?

I too think Kopitar should be playing less and his ice time between last year and this year has only dropped 22 seconds a game, or about half a shift, which isn't enough. I wouldn't use win-loss to determine that though.

I for one am glad we have a single thread for the Chief Opinion Officers to confine their insults within.

Would love to see an extra filter of what the record was when he played over 20 min and the team only scored 1 goal.

I've been a huge proponent of "going for it" one more time with Kopitar-Doughty, so obviously I'm disappointed with the lack of action at the trade deadline and how they've been currently trending.

That said, they looked great when the squad was healthy. Moore and Durzi have been huge pleasant surprises this season.

It's a shame they don't have a guy like Stuetzle in the line-up, he would've been a really nice fit with this group.
