All teams have some (in theory) easy games. Bolton really should be safe but they have been in poor form lately. The last two weeks for Pompey/Derby/Wycombe could be massive.

Excited that Pompey are at least in the conversation. Going to Morecambe next week and I'm hoping to finally see my first Pompey win.

Reading deducted six points for an EFL financial breach, second season in a row this has happened to them. They are now 20th and one point above the relegation zone. Wigan earlier this season was also deducted three points for unpaid wages

Derby are too big to be in L1 and it'd be nice if they could scrape back up, but I gotta root for Wycombe here. Their journey to the Championship was amazing and they were so unlucky to go down.

Then and there
It was already a foregone conclusion for a while, but Burnley have now mathematically secured their promotion to Premier league.

Wrexham reach 100 points.
And it still isn't enough for the automatic promotion spot to league two lol....this morning's showdown with Notts County might tell the story of who gets consigned to the playoffs or not.

Yeah, I noticed they lost to Halifax Town on Friday. Today's game is tied 1-1 at the moment. Wrexham do have a game in hand though.

The promotion and relegation spots in England are kinda odd. It goes 3, 3, 4, 2, 4. The jump to 4 from league 1 to league 2 then half that from league 2 to the national league just makes no sense. I'm sure it had to do with 5th tier teams not being fully professional but how long ago was that?

Another one that gets me is in Germany, probably other places too, where the 3rd place team has to go up beating the 3rd worst in the higher league. It's not so much the head to head matchup as it is that only the 3rd place team gets that shot. There's no playoffs for that spot, so if you had a great year but finished 4th you get nothing. No playoff drama or some team making a late surge to sneak into the playoffs then winning it all to get promoted. Teams have nothing to play for the last 10 games if they in the 7 to 12th place but too far out of 3rd or from relegation.

Going to be strange to see them back and trying to play actual football. Kompany has completely shifted the identity of the club.

I am pretty impressed by the quality of goals (that GWG was BAD though) and the saves!! This looked like a great match

I’m glad I was able to listen to most of this on the radio (Wrexham feed), man this lived up to the hype and then some considering it was billed the biggest non league game ever - and between two teams with long, local history plus all the new overseas fans of Wrexham like me thanks to the documentary.

Hopefully there’s two more of these games next year in League Two, but as both teams know all too well, the six team playoff is very unforgiving (and stupid considering it’s for a second spot and not a third).

This is gold.

80 year old Ben Foster gets his name sung to him off the pitch.........you can't fake his enthusiasm.

(really good stuff starts after 4 minutes)

every National League club gets an old Premier League player every year, new rule

Ince sacked by Reading after 14 months in charge, academy coach and formet player Noel Hunt takes over until the end of the season, they probably would have been ok but the points deduction puts them in a dangerous spot regarding relegation. Not counting the pre-season thats the 21st managerial change during the season, though several clubs have changed managers multiple times already (Wigan, Watford, Huddersfield and QPR)

Looking way down I was interested to see that Yeovil and Scunthorpe are getting relegated from the Conference. About 10 years ago both these sides were in the Championship. For Scunthorpe its back to back relegations but they apparently have some financial issues. Yeovil were always a club outside the 'EFL' but in the early 2010s they were a consistent League One side with a stint in the Championship, since then its been a disaster

supporting a team in the 5th division is glory hunting lmao? it's not like there gonna go any higher then championship or a bottom premier league team under ryan anyway .
It sure is. Following a “5th division team” because they are popular on social media and have celebrity owners is absolutely glory hunting. It’s the definition of jumping on a bandwagon

What a world where a Premier League goalie increases his visibility and profile a hundredfold (in Britain ‘and’ America) by going to Wrexham

I’m example A of this, I’m a casual Premier League fan at best and couldn’t pick the dude out of a lineup before he signed with Wrexham. But he went there and the story arc is irresistible, particularly given he credits his initial stint at Wrexham with being the first big break of his career.
