I just read that the fire is only 20 km away from Yellowknife and there is only one road out. This is terrifying, I hope you are okay.
We're roughly 15 km away now with the fires. It's a complete gongshow right now. We have to shelter in place at the hospital when we get the official evacuation notice.

If there a chance of rain or wind change that might help you? I cannot imagine what you are going through.

@NeelyDan

Follow up to my post about the naval aviation museum....thought you would enjoy these two. If you go to their website you can read about all of their displays. They even have a Sopwith Camel lol

I could seriously spend all day there and not get bored, and I've been there dozens of times

Not going to Pensacola, but we are headed to Tubac, south of Tucson for a long weekend. We decided tonight that one of our activities for the weekend is going to be the Pima Air & Space Museum. The Aircraft Boneyard at Davis-Monthan AFB no longer offers tours, so this will be the next best thing. You should have seen @Kovi 's eyes light up when I confirmed for her that they have an A-10 on display!

I have been to the Naval Aviation Museum several times when I was stationed there. Hoping to make it back soon.

Yeah I'm a little bit of a millitary aviation junkie--secret fact about me. Gotta see me some Thunderbolt...

Judging from the map the weather channel just showed it looks like Hurricane Hilary might bring some rain to Arizona.
144 days without rain.

We had a rocking thunderstorm move through at about 3am and shook the windows. It only rained for about 30 minutes, but we'll take it. left this scene in the backyard this morning.

Anybody have one of those robot vacuums with self empty?
likes? dislikes? Go over thresholds? Etc?
Buy one that maps. We have older ones that we just retired because we spent all our time looking for where they were stuck.

I am very happy - I now have this amazing filing cabinet in my house. It means a lot to me - my Dad brought it from Windsor Station in Montreal when they renovated in the late 1970s. I was about 16 years old and fell in love with it. They were throwing all this stuff away because no one wanted it.
The handles are brass and it is solid wood and was made in Newmarket, Ontario, but not sure how old it is.
My Mom used to store her knitting patterns and books in it, I have wonderful memories of this cabinet. My brother gave it to my nephew, not knowing how much I loved it. I didn't want to ask for it but when my brother realized how much it meant to me, he got it back and delivered it on Tuesday.

For everyone not named troublesome85:

I'm curious to see how others feel about their current jobs/coworkers. How much more money percentage-wise would it take to get you to leave your current job if you really love the team you work with? I fully expect to never have to go through this process again and just spent a week agonizing over it. Dwight Schrute would not be pleased with my ultimate decision.

The only reason I would leave my current job is if my company was sold and there either wasn't a spot for me in the new organization or I didn't like the new organization's vision.

I make a generous salary, have a ton of autonomy and flexibility, and work with some cool people in an industry that is a dream. I'm not sure there's any amount of money I would leave for, but never say never.

When it comes time to decide if I need to move on I always look at how well I'm able to balance work and personal life and if my salary provides for a comfortable way of life. Do I still like the work I'm doing, am I still growing professionally, or have I maxed out? Am I frustrated more often than not on a daily basis?

If I like the work and the people and the balance/comfortable way of life points to yes, I'd stay.

Only laughing at the first part.
