I just posted a link. Its not slander. And quite frankly if it is; then as is true with anything in life; there is always an exception. And dubas is that exception. He should have his lunch fed to him.

Leafs fans have waited forever - and this guy ruined everything

Nylander can score and is one of the strongest players on the puck when he feels like competing. Marner is way easier to defend against. If he had to be centered by Kerfoot instead of Matthews, it would outweigh any advantage he got from having an easier matchup.

lol ok you posted a link of someone saying it and the person saying it hates Dubas. I questioned how would that person know or not know what Dubas wears for glasses. Posters on here are running with it and just assuming it must be true because they hate the guy and it fits in with their opinion about him. I am as critical as anyone with some of Dubas's decisions, I just don't get the personal character assaults and in this case of the glasses, it has not been proven to be true. You want to castrate Dubas, that's your prerogative. I don't see the need to make shit up to prove a point especially when questioning someones character. That kind of shit irks me in the real world and why I responded. That's all I was saying.
 
I have been watching and following Marner since he was in juniors, and back then he was super clutch (memorial cup MVP, etc.).

Awful to see what he has become. Dude needs to put on some muscle (15-20 pounds) for the NHL playoffs and get stronger and worry less about his damn hair. He needs to compete harder and go into the dirty areas. It's the only way. He definitely needs to evolve.

I'd just put him on a line with a mediocre center like Bozak and tell him to make some offense happen in more sheltered minutes. I don't think this guy needs to be burdened with more stuff to get going. Get that good offense out of him, cut back on PK work and leave him fresh going into the playoffs and mix and match according to opponents. Cut back expectations so he can over deliver and find some confidence.

If he played wing like Kariya did, he would do fine and I agree he would be better driving instead of just dishing it off every time.

I think there are two simplistic accounts about this.

1. "You NEVER trade a young superstar." Then they bombard us with his stats that make him look good. All other nuance is ignored.

But there is a third less simplistic stance. It's more nuanced. It takes actual thought.

But at the end of the day an unprecedented experiment was attempted by the three highest people in management who came here as rookies. It hasn't worked. Experiment over. No other team has more than ONE 11 million dollar player. Most teams have ZERO players making over 10 mil. I'm sorry, this is just not sustainable. We're still mocked by the rest of the league as we lose and lose and lose. "Hey leafs, just add another 11 million dollar forward lol". Let's stop being the joke of the entire league. Just this one time.

We can and will will, f*** our cap situation. Not only did he overpay he gave them gobs of money up front. Total incompetence. If he had bridged Marner, there wouldn't be such an outcry to get rid of him.

So because Leaf fans bitch when the team fails 5 years in a row in epic style, they will find something to bitch about something Leaf the day after they win the SC? Sure.

I call bulls1t. I remember many bitching about Jays and Raps and not a peep after they won. Anyway I don't think we will have to cross that bridge soon when it comes to Leafs winning the SC. At least not as long as dumb, dumber and dumbest are in charge and the inmates are running the asylum.

Seriously, nobody complained DeRozan was traded for Kawhi after the Raptors became NBA Champs...even Lowry, DeRozan's best friend was smiling from cheek to cheek.

If I were the GM, I’d be quietly shopping him all off-season. The problem is with the playoffs he had, his value is probably much lower.

Hes the most obvious target for a move though. Soft, big contract, has never performed under pressure. I’d look to move him and send a message to that roster not to get too comfortable.

How many years can they keep bringing the same failing roster to the ice and have the same results? They’ve been embarrassing.

IIRC I heard lots of bitching about the Alomar and Carter for McGriff and Fernandez trade the day after the Jays won their first and second world series. Heck I'm still pissed off about that deal. Gillick was such a fool :sarcasm:
